View Full Version : Legendary Wildwood Outfit?

According to the Wiki, this is supposed to drop in the Red Rain end chest.
I've run this dungeon 16 times on Legendary Elite with 3 re-rolls each time with at least a Lesser Elixir of Discovery (for a total of 38% chance to pull named loot) running during all chest openings.
I have pulled all four of the other items the Wiki says can be gotten there multiple times. Not once have I pulled the Legendary Wildwood outfit.
Are we certain the outfit drops there? Could the DDOWiki and DDO Compendium both be wrong?
Thanks.

I've run reach for the sky over 50 times, and no onyx ring. sometimes the loot gods frown upon you.

I know the Onyx Ring drops from Reach for the Sky. I have 2 or 3 of them.

Sometimes it's bad luck. I got 4 rings before I got my gloves.

Your math is off. Your looking at the number of times you looted, and the chances you had to pull the item you wanted, but every time you open the chest, you reset your odds to that chest only. It stinks that you haven't gotten the item, the best advice i can give you is to do guild runs, with 5 people from your guild, at least that way if someone does get it, they are likely going to pass it to you.

I never made any specific mathematical or statistical conclusions. If I had, I would would have said something like, "Over the series of 64 pulls, I would have averaged pulling a total of 24.32 items. Given even distribution, I would have, on average, expected to pull each of the 5 items 4.864 times."
Individual odds, of course, don't change from pull to pull. But if you look at a series of pulls, you can make solid assertions about what was likely to have been pulled over that series.

38% chance of a named item / 5 (named items in the quest) = 7.6% chance of LWO/run; also = 92.4% chance of no LWO/run.
0.924^64 = 0.635% chance of not pulling LWO across your run. Put another way, 1/157 people doing the same thing will have the same result of no LWO.
So you're still well within the realm of statistical possibility. Unlucky, for sure, but quite possible.
That said, maybe run with a party? Full party of 6 with no re-rolls across those 16 runs would literally multiply your odds by 12.5 (0.051% chance of not pulling LWO).

Good thread.
This is why people rather multi box then pug for it.
I'm in favour of doing the quest 3 times and get a version without extra boni on them.

After I ransacked the quest the last time, I waited my week and ransacked it again.
I ran it 8 times on LE (with a +5% Elixir of Discovery running every time) and re-rolled 3 times for a total of 32 chest rolls/pulls.
No Legendary Wildwood Outfit again.
For those of you keeping track, that's 96 total rolls with a 38% chance to get *some* named item.
Over that series of rolls, you'd expect to see, on average, 36.48 named items appear over that series chest chances.
Assuming even distribution, I would have expected to see the Wildwood Outfit drop 7.296 times.
It hasn't dropped even once. All the other items have dropped multiple times, though.
Can anyone actually confirm that the Legendary Wildwood Outfit drops in the Legendary Red Rain quest?
Thanks.

I know the Onyx Ring drops from Reach for the Sky. I have 2 or 3 of them.
It does indeed drop there. My sentient ate a Wildwood outfit from there a few hours ago. Had mythic 4 on it.

Wildwood Outfit drops from Reach for the Sky??
I think Steve might have a real beef with the Wiki, then!

On the 25th run, 1st re-roll, the outfit finally dropped.
Thank, God.

How many total chest openings and re-rolls? You did keep track, didn't you? :)

98 total chest openings, including the re-rolls. All but the last two were with a 38% chance to pull a named item. The last two pulls were with the standard 33% chance. My Lesser Pots of Discovery were all used up.
