It would be loosely based on the board game clue, take place in a small mansion in an exclusive neighborhood with random clues, and based on the random clues and your skill checks there would be a different guilty party (with different end fight mechanics). Perhaps half a dozen possible outcomes. It would certainly have a sense of variety. Perhaps you'd be working with an inquisitor because the case would involve high status individuals with some social or political pull.

I would name it "False alarm". You have this big build up, then at the end, after fighting through the whole quest, you would find the person you have to rescue perfectly fine, and not very pleased that you have destroyed their home/castle/camp/etc. The quest giver would pretty much give you your reward as a bribe to keep their involvement quiet.
