View Full Version : Can't buy DDO Points after patch =(

So, I see the double bonus points, which I've been waiting on, and decide to dish out some cash for point.
There's a new verification process! Okay, no problem. I pull up my credit card's website and look at the pending transaction for verification. I punch in the amount, then click verify. When the game client comes back up, it says there's an error, and I didn't get my points.
My credit card shows a pending transaction for the purchase, now... but also a pending credit for the same amount.
A buddy isn't having any problem with his Visa. Maybe it'a a Discover problem?

I had a problem with trying to use Discover on the DDO Market site yesterday. It got flagged by Discover as being suspicious. Needed to confirm that it wasn't.
I just tried a minute or two ago to buy points. It flashes up the verification screen and I also had to pull up the credit card site. I punched in the amount, which was only 90 cents, but it went thru. It's now showing up as the actual price of the point bundle. It seems to be a kind of a clunky way of doing things. Maybe because they have been getting flagged??

That sucks to hear that I'm not even sure what to guess. It made to your credit card company and yet, it dies at the final step/transaction. So, it's sort of working but not completing the final step. I've been away from the game for some time, so I am just getting back in the swing of things as far this stuff goes. I have been reading a few threads that make it seem as if there is a less than stellar response at times from the folks that should be more than happy to accept your cash. Are there any Reddit threads out there about this issue?

Sometimes when a transaction fails, some merchants/card services put a hold on the account/merchant/card for a period of time to prevent possible duplicate charges. If it persists more than a day, I would call your cardholder services and see if there's something on their end. If a bunch of users are having the same problem with a merchant but other card types work fine, it's usually either the card processor (in this case Discover) or the merchant having a breakdown on one side or anyother. Unfortunately, DDO doesn't have phone support, so that's out.
