Death Pact-1 charge per rest

"This spell allows you to enter a pact with your deity that brings you back to life after you are slain. While under the effects of this spell, your Constitution is decreased by 2, and cannot be restored until you rest."

Now, about the actual spell that isn't a clicky........

1-You can use this spell only once per rest, but you can fruitlessly cast it at any time, however you can only target yourself.

2-Beholders can dispel this effect and prevent you from getting raised.

3-This effect can be cast while under the effect of The Cursed Blade Of Jack Jibbers and auto-raise you upon expiration of the cursed blade of Jack Jibbers.

4-Clerics and Favored Souls can get this spell

gonna have to pass on this op things partner, there's a reason clerics and favored souls can only use it, and once.

Yes. Too powerful. At least Jibbers is going to kill you again in short order.

Indeed seems too powerful, and I generally think the OP has some pretty off the wall suggestions.

However, I agree with his spirit - in that more creative options would be amazing. Especially clickies of things that already exist (such that less dev time would be required).

Hell, even a clickie of intercession ward (are people abusing the two items with it somehow?) - we have amazing effects in the game, every release doesn't have to include new black razor effects, or whatever. Just give us interesting items that utilize some of the massive amount of in game effects that already exist.

Jibbers fills that role already, albeit with different semantics involved.

Curious, is there a spell that would be more OP than this if made into a once per rest clicky?

Mind you, I am talking only about spells that players currently have access to!

having a clicky like this would mostly remove the need for cakes. I know there are times I will buy cakes, because 1 jibbers isn't enough to save a run. its rare that I need more than the jibbers to save a run, but literally... If I had 1 click of death pact... I would never buy a cake, ever again.

Holy Aura, Holy Sword, Zeal, Wail of the Banshee, Energy Drain.

Now none of these 1 time clicks would come close to the power of having essentially your own raise dead once per rest. However, if they ever added any of these spells as a once per rest click item, you can be sure that everyone would have them, and they would be viewed as some of the most OP items in the game.

Holy sword would be crazy! Basically takes AP/class choice for crit profile out of character design.

I don't think wail would be a big deal, the DCs would be terrible. You could just scroll enervation for the same effect.

Uhm... No! Sure, they might both be 1d4 negative levels, but wail of the banshee would only prevent you from doing 1 initial hit in order to cast the clicky. Which, wail would then go off and do 3 more ticks of neg levels I think.

It lasts for 6 seconds, every 2 seconds it does another tick, I believe the initial cast also has a tick but I might be wrong. This effect is also AoE, where as Enervation isn't.

Yeh, I understand it hits 2 targets 3 times, but you are not aoe deleveling most of the time. If you have a single delevel use it's going to be on an orange name. My point was you have limitless uses of enervation and your hits in between casts either don't matter or make the delevel not matter, since it reduces max HP and not current HP. Smart play makes the scroll better against single target than a single wail. Sure, I concede wail is better if for some reason you are in a crowd of things worth deleveling that you can't aoe kill faster anyway.

Also if you have a crowd of trash, your wail might be wasted not even hitting the main target.

I think you over value it from experience casting it, sure when you have it on hand and might get a kill the delevel is nice in an aoe. But with a single use, meh.

If it was an option, would you have it on every character? If you answer yes, then my point is accurate :P . . . I mean... If you really want to argue you would be better off just using enervate. Why not both? Use your wail clicky, and then spam enervate scrolls.

Fair enough. I would in fact use both given the option. But, I think my argument that it is not OP is still valid. But I wouldn't farm it like farming a jibbers.

Overpowered? Debatable.

Unwise? I think so.

Underpowered when compared to a rogues cheat death. ;)

Not only would it devalue being a Divine who can cast it...but it'd also devalue Divines actually slotting it, since you can only cast it once per rest anyway (barring things like Beholders dispelling it)

Yes too powerful.

Would present better if it was a -10 to all stats until you shrine and had a 30 minute timer in addition to shrine recharge, not usable while dead or jibbered..

A chorus begins to rise over the hill, growing ever closer, ever louder. Faintly at first, barely audible you hear, "We want Power! We want more stats!" As the mob crests the hill you see a legion of individuals in disarray but all repeating the phrase.

Your heart sinks, for you know this mob will get their way...

This item is in no way overpowered, but you some information was omitted from the description. The full version of the clicky is given below:

Death Pact-1 charge per rest
"This spell allows you to enter a pact with the deity of squirrels that brings you back to life as a squirrel after you are slain. While under the effects of this spell, your Constitution is decreased by 2, and cannot be restored until you rest. While in squirrel form, you can interact with objects normally (provided you can reach them). Because you are a squirrel, you cannot access your inventory, so cannot change equipped items (you can still attack as normal if you can reach, or use claw/claw/bite for 1d2/1d2/1d3). You can cast spells as normal, provided they don't have verbal components (squirrels do not have language skills) or material components (they are in your inventory, which you can't access): spells with somatic components only can be cast as normal, but have the additional effect of casting Tasha's Uncontrollable Hideous Laughter on both friends and foes because of how unbelievably cute you look while casting. The effect persists through logout, and leaving/entering quests/wilderness adventure areas, but is dispelled following HR/IR/RR, character death & Resurrection/True Resurrection (but not Raise Dead) or casting of the Reincarnate spell (while dead or alive)."

Here's a rework

Works infinite times per shrine (OMG!), with a 2 minute cooldown, but instead of affecting you, it affects all hirelings in a radius.

Now, you have a balanced item that saves the AI from its own stupidity - once.
Which is better than the 0 times it currently has :)

You have just ruined Wyoh's favourite technique for meeting new dates:
"Run into battle in a mini-dress, die, wait for handsome cleric/FvS/random-UMD-scroll-er to return her to life, invite them for drinks/netflix-and-chill by way of thanks"
