Heading to Sharn - HD DDO video with music

Hey all. Wanted to set some in-game footage (including some Sharn public area spoilage from preview 2) to a song I felt was appropriate.

Just a few comments on making a no(low) UI video in DDO:

**** you focus orb - go away. Even after alt-z'ing for no UI the focus orb pops if your mouse runs over any selectable. So much video lost due to focus orb popping up. Also made it tough to post any video with groups.
The stupid reticle and panning. The best way to smooth pan in DDO is to use mouse look... but then you have a reticle in the center always. Ended up changing turn speed to minimum and using camera look keys or normal turning... but still a bit choppy.
Next time I'll probably consider shooting at 1440, but cropping video to 1080 so UI can pop in corners (and I can control via UI and have feedbacks) and crop it out.
Used the NV GeforceExperience free app for all the frame grabs. (Used to be Shadowplay). Not too terrible, except for when it is and you have to reboot to make it work well.
Yes, I have a thing for spinning around the camera (shrug). Also that wings unfolding animation.
I used shotcut for all the editing. Freeware. Couldn't figure out how to make animated text... think there's some means via HTML5... but wasn't any obvious thing.

The narrative for Sharn is a bit thin, imo but I really like the footage and the camera moves. Well done!

Yeah, even with auto-target disable the focus orb pops if your mouse location goes over any selectable - though it doesn't stay selected but you now have focus orb UI. Pops even more with auto-target enabled.

I wasn't really intending this to be a trailer (as it isn't). A trailer should be about 1 minute or less long and for Sharn would focus on some Sharn questing with like a vignette filter quick look at the raid boss at the end. Just wanted to throw together a number of vertical areas and make a clean HD video of some DDOzin on top of some progressive Dutch music.

<lies> Also flying. You know everyone can fly in Sharn right... big reveal. Spoiled now.</lies> Well - though there are --- ----s.

Originally instead of the middle extended chorus scene that is there I was gonna bug all of Ghallanda's winger types (no, not just those that like "Seventeen", but themz with palystance/leap/reaper/aasimar wings) and ask them all to gather and jump off one by one from the ledge that overlooks the Twelve floating pillars and lightning zone while filming from below... and then have everyone regather and do a group simul/spread jump from above. And get it from a few angles and from jumping perspective... but I never got the time (or the courage) to set that up.

Those are (fallen) Aasimar wings.
And the "flying up" is achieved by running footage of feather-falling down in reverse. ;3
