When hubby came home yesterday he had a surprise... he pre-ordered Sharn for both of us!


So here is my newest character - Phantastique Nocturne:

I wanted to give a shout out to whichever dev added the pink-lavender to deep violet skin tone, its much appreciated. I love all the new hairstyles tieflings got. Its a shame Aasimar really didn't get as much effort hair style wise.

High Society cosmetics are awesome, and while I don't love the Inquisitor... I don't really dislike it either... its just somewhat bland. The Scoundrel set for the Tiefling Iconic is perhaps the most well-done armor set in the game so BRAVO! Is it odd that only the armor has a cosmetic? I thought iconics came with more BTC cosmetics than that... but this is only my third Iconic character.

Both the Bloodhound and the Peacock are incredibly well done, I will probably get more use out of the Peacock as it suits my characters more. I adore the chiming sound.

One other thing I've noticed so far... my Tiefling Scoundrel has only one dance animation. That is /dance and /dance2 are identical. That can't be right?

I think most Iconics have only come with a cosmetic armor, I can't think of any that had more. They have had some nice unique-ish gear, like helmets, but only the main body as a cosmetic. And I agree with the Scoundrel appearance. I love the off the shoulder capelet. :D



One other thing I've noticed so far... my Tiefling Scoundrel has only one dance animation. That is /dance and /dance2 are identical. That can't be right?I think Tieflings, female and male, only have one dance apiece right now. Bug? Intended? Will be added later? Who knows.

It may be just me, but I hate the sound my Tiefling bard makes with her violin. Fascinate song is tolerable, but Inspire song is just awful.

As an aside: Being a VIP, I got Tiefling race without a pre-order, and immediately made a Tiefling character. I was stunned to find out that Starter Rags actually look good on her. To the point that I glamered them, and now my new bard wears Cosmetic Starter Rags.

Also running around Lammania I saw a couple of NPCs wearing variations of the Inquisitor cosmetic... our version is so very much better than what those poor souls are wearing. Must be laundry day for them.

I don't know Mem, the backup dancers dance would be fine but the one in the center swinging around and kicking looks... mmmm silly, like a not well-done interpretive dance.

Since the iconic tiefling is a bard I'd almost like to see something classy like another ballet move, or maybe some salsa.

Hmmm mine had no trouble with that but I was an avid PnP player before coming to DDO, and I also played games like Elderscrolls. Maybe gently induct her into PnP first and by gently I mean don't have a rules lawyer DM that's going to nit-pick at every little action or railroad the story... that can be seriously off-putting. If she can get involved in the theatre of the mind storytelling of DnD she may become interested in RPGs in general.

My wife ( Of 23 years ) started playing in 2008. Yes having a wife that games is a beautiful thing.

I will purchase the Ultimate Fan Bundle for us both ( because "peacock" ) in the next week or so.

I used to date a girl that would sit in the local comic book store and sort my M:tG cards while I was playing in tournaments or playing D&D. We celebrate 17 years in a couple of months. :P
