Inflict Serious Wounds Scrolls (Bug?)

Just started leveling a pale master, decided to buy Inflict serious wounds scrolls but I noticed that they only heal as much as Inflict serious wounds potions even though I have wand and scroll mastery? Is this a bug?

query:
1) do you have any ability that reduce negative damage, like cloak of night toggle ability or lifesealed/deathblock X items
2) have you tried having another pale master cast a scroll on you?

my assumption is that maybe drinking a potion bypass some resistance/absorption you otherwise normally have, but i could be wrong

Drink potion give you same spell effect as cast scroll, mastery works for both.

Try use without mastery and you see difference. 8)
