ML 8 Greensteel blank

All these years I've had an unfinished Ml 8 Gs Shortsword.
Its holy/goodburst. used it for the raise dead clickie.
My question is: if i finish third tier, will it automatically "fix" the item by making it Ml 12?

anyone try this or know the answer? wiki doesn't say. Thanks

never been on Lam. the char the SS is on is currently lvl 8. no guild ships right? no way to craft?

not the answer you were looking for but: a freebie Barovian shortsword will be so good comparatively at level 10 that I would save the shard for something else

let me fill in the gaps for those that didn't play back in 08.....

when the shroud first hit in 2008, for the first month or so, gear Gs blanks were ML 7 and weapons were ML 8.
It was then changed to its current 11/12. items that were made up to that point stayed 7/8, newly made items 11/12.
Because my Shortsword (rapiers were N/A) had the first 2 tiers added it was Btc.
Popular at the time was to make tier 2 "clickies" . Resurrection was the effect for a pos/pos weapon as mine was which was changed to raise dead.

So i have this shortsword that i cant "save" any shards for anything. its crafted. there are a few players still out there with some lvl 8 greensteel items.
I'm looking for anyone that has one if they can remember when it was finished before or after the nerf if it stayed lvl 8 or was changed to 12.

Other items from pre tr era raids have had upgrades that changed the item. Anyone know if these issue was ever address??
I'm aware of the Barovian SS at level 10. Im talking about a lvl 8 3X positive fully crafted greensteel weapon. powerful even if dated.

I have a ML8 Khopesh from that time, that I crafted tier3 on after a long hiatus. This stayed ML8, and is a nice TR item. Was finished around 2012-2013 though, so who knows what will happen 2019...

I imagine only a dev can say for sure because it depends entirely on how the greensteel crafting works.

We know that some crafting systems (especially old ones) don't actually upgrade items, they destroy the item and give you a new one with the new effects on it. If greensteel works like this then I would expect you to get an ML 12 item.

Other crafting system actually modify the existing item. If this is the case I would expect you to still have an ML 8 item.

You can try to get a guild invite from someone online.

Or

Talking to Sir Poincelot will give you 99,999 DP, so you can buy a guild and ship. I've never done this, but I've seen world announcements for "Guild X has reached level 100!" etc etc, so there is a way to fast-level guilds as well. I don't know how to do it though.


If you want to be really, really sure how it's going to work, then Lam is pretty much your only way to find out other than doing it on live. How it worked in previous patch levels is no guarantee how it'll work now. I've got lots of Wondrous Items that've had their ML's bounce up and down based on patches.

Current guild level is 173. How would that be on Lam.?
Character is level 8 atm so the only way i would be able to do it is on a guild ship.
If I transfer the char over and I can enter my guild ship then problem solved.

I'll try this out and post my results. Looking to add 30% healing amp as the 3rd tier positive.
Make a nice off hand weap for a tempest running reaper content.

Your live guild will not exist on Lam, so you will have to either make a new one or get an invite from someone who already did.

Or, talk to the dojo trainer to power level to 30, and then solo shroud on normal.
