Ugh...can't decide on next life weapon choice...

Coming up on my next tr, plan is to knock out my pdk lives next so probably looking at a three life commitment for ITR. I keep waffling between rxb and gxb, because I have some good rxbs across that level range but I don't have any of the marquee gxbs (and can't get them). Mostly solo, so not building for reaper or cap raiding. Keep hearing good things about gxb dps but dunno how much of that is because of the named gxbs themselves, and if it would still be as awesome with an ES or TF T1 all the way to 30.

Thoughts? Suggestions? And please identify yourself if you're just a mechanic partisan :D

Depends entirely on the class. 18-20 rogue should always utilize great crossbows. Artificer primary builds should usually equip heavy repeaters. There's a general consensus that repeaters are useful throughout 1-30 and great crossbows are more useful at level 12+ (especially with 18 rogue).

I did a 14/6 bard ftr once
Called the white dragon, in bard
It was twf bastard sword
Don't know if it could solo
But it was t5 warchanter, and pretty fun to play

Don't know why you'd go rxb, but that's easy cheese I guess
But if you want to switch it up, maybe try twf longswords

Yeah I get the "common wisdom" but I'm not sure how not having DA or Volley etc. changes the calculus there. I'd be doing ITR so I wouldn't have to worry about getting to 12 before GXB becomes attractive.

I'd be running as a Rgr/Ftr/Arti for RXB or a standard Rog/Fig/Arti for GXB

As long as you have 6rogue/4arti you can do whatever you want. its so strong you can even do 10monk/6rogue/4arti uncentered light armor if all you want is a quick ITR. And yes a TF GXB is the way to go. RXB are rougly 3-4 times less DPS than the good old Fusillade with 6 rogue and tier5 mechanic. For 15-22 just get a GXB with vorpal effect. 22+ TF
