Never say soon Gleep. Apparently there is a metaphysical science-fiction to the whole concept and measurement of soon. :p

To my knowledge, there's no rule stating the yearly Producer's Letter has to be released in January.

My guess is it'll be released in February this year.

No.

..can we expect one soon? .

All signs point to yes. (last two livestreams, Cordovan has given an update on this).

Yes, Soon(TM) doesn't mean the same thing to SSG as it does to everyone else.

But it makes a great debate topic for DDO players.

The 2018 Producer's Letter was published on January 30th, 2018 so I am hoping that the 2019 Producer's Letter meets this mark as well. If SSG releases subsequent Producer's Letters after January 30th each year, the date will keep drifting further and further into the year and have no consistent release date.

Our nefarious goal is to eventually wrap all the way around again, so in 2046 or something you'll get two producer's letters in a single week, mid-December.

They may need to get it approved by Daybreak Games and possibly even WOTC depending on the contents.

I don't think that is nefarious, but it is at least farious.

It looks like the 2019 Producer's Letter won't be this month. Maybe sometime in the next few weeks, right before the Anniversary event...

Greetings,

This past year went better than anyone could have hoped for or expected! The game is still running, though no one is really certain how it all works. We managed to pull a bit of the curtain back after the TR process ate several characters and the forums grew too vocal to ignore, so that was really exciting. I'm sure all the people who encountered this issue were ecstatic with our auto-closed ticket explaining that we could not help them while we were secretly working diligently behind the scenes. We've finally gotten around to adding a safety net in the TR process that should have been in place since inception to hopefully prevent anything like this from happening, or at least making resolution more smooth.

We're working on a server related issue that logs you out of the game and states that your account is logged in a different server. Nothing to report for now as we have not experienced the issue personally. In the meantime, just deal with it.

We added some oomph to some of the less stellar favor rewards. Naturally, you'll have to TR and re-acquire the favor in order to take advantage of these benefits. The Falconry Tree is now available as an in-game favor reward on a per character basis.

We got a representative from Merriam Webster an Uber from their Massachusetts Headquarters to deliberate the meaning of the term "very soon." After much gnashing of teeth, it has been decided that "very soon" can mean anything ranging from later today, to never at all. Good luck deciphering where on the timeline anything stands.

Along those same lines, Sharn will be released very soon! (whether it's ready or not) We're very excited to take everything we did right with Ravenloft and scrap it in favor of something less user friendly. Tens of forum posters didn't like the Ravenloft teleporters not requiring any effort at all. Rest assured, you will have to traverse a vast, dark, confusing explorer zone to get anywhere in Sharn, every single time you want to go anywhere! We also understand that expansion bundles need to have something to entice people to spend more. We're excited to announce that the Ultimate Sharn Expansion will include an item to let you bypass our intentionally poor design choices. Sharn will have 3 new raids. You'll need to run raid 1 to unlock raid 2, which unlocks raid 3. When you repeat or fail any raid, it puts you back at the bottom and you must start over at Raid 1 again. We think players will really like this intentionally annoying gate mechanic. These raids will feature bloated mob damage output, multiple (barely) avoidable forms of instant death, several puzzles, and a boss that isn't as challenging as the rest of the raid leading up to them. The Third and final raid in Sharn will force your group to separate, then have a mandatory gather objective! Those are always a hit! In an attempt to balance raid loot, some of the loot is ridiculously OP so you won't want to wear your Slavers or Ravenloft set gear, while other items are absolutely worthless.

Some people feel that Raid loot should not be able to be fed to a Sentient Gem to promote sharing in a raid party environment. In a corresponding move, Raid Loot now gives 2x the Sentient XP as normal named loot.

Our 13th Anniversary Event is coming up. In keeping with tradition, this event will include 1-2 really appealing things that will not be available ever again and may be nerfed at any moment. I know we made the Sentient XP system. And we made the Rose Glasses. However due to somehow unintended use of these items in the system we literally designed, these Glasses have been nerfed. We've added Lynnabel as a developer to the event. She's located in the main gala area conversing with forumites, why she does this no one at SSG knows but she seems to enjoy it overall. As with any Expansion, we've been working on it non-stop in preparation for release. We still found time to nerf some low level armor from this once-a-year event!

[Place Holder] Some carrot about something exciting happening at some point very soon with no information. Stay tuned! [/Place Holder]

Thank you all for your support.
