First this is my fave mmo hands down, however I'm not a big fan of mmo's.
But how the quests in DDO are just so darn original and the hand crafting I've always found is second to none, the difference maker to us.
I've been in out like 3 times, pretty good stretches each time. I have a handful of characters, highest 20. I'm probably looking to start over though.
What we do like, is to play every quest to Elite usually starting on Elite, I know there are newer difficulty levels, so perhaps higher now.
This isn't about grinding for a certain piece of gear or the fastest through a dungeon, the later is totally not us.
Playing the content in full, but the least amount of runs is how we like.
Coming back to this game, there is so much going on from character build, to all your situational power bars, the main reason choosing to just start a new character.
What I'm looking for is what makes a good trio or duo? One guy just loves to play Magic Users and the Warlock wasn't a thing the last time he played. He's done both Mage and Sorcerer, Sorcerer being his last. Generally speaking do you feel a player like that would or should go for Warlock? Is there another cool magic user now?
I've always played the Healer Role, but build it offensively as well, this game allowed for both nicely. I've played Priests and Favored Souls, like FS better. I'm not at all against going FA again, but is there another cool all-arounder to consider? I do know healing isn't as big of need as before, but probably still want some group heals if needed.
Lastly the other player fills out the Fighter/Rogue roll and probably will do the same again unless there is something new and cool to consider.
Now the different ask is I have a ton of games, I really want to play the content through, but I'm not interested in grinding, speed runs, reincarnation and time is an issue. Is there a place that is good to get extremely detailed builds from 1-30? As much as we all like the character building in DDO, I would just like something that is very functional and play that out, the Quests themselves are our highlights. It may sound a little lame, but I'm trying to explain my need.
Crafting was a thing when we last played and I'm sure it has expanded. It was a whole 'other world to us and we didn't really dig deep at all in it. Is it viable without grinding same quest area's over and over? Any thoughts here?
When/if we come back we are on Thelanis, is that still going well? We'll all jump in as VIP, we see the value and the $'s isn't the problem, time is. So we'll show some good support overall and as we hit the new area's we'll get the expansions, which have always enticed me looking back in to DDO.
So really I'm looking for a kick-start on the build side of things, just want something built right enough and play the content out. There is plenty of user skill in this game beyond just build.
Thanks.
