Anything new! Something new! Something that, yes, probably will test programming skills to a reasonable extent. What do I mean?
When we see the next big update, what would really be pleasing more then the same old "newest quest" and far more interesting and fun would be the "new feature" or "new something". Something, a surprise, or not, doesn't matter, but new!
A house to store inventory that adds glory or reputation to be gained for doing stuff in the game that allows players to unlock better bigger houses, and alleviated TR cache issues for good... is something new. It is a new feature to the game that would be great!
There is so much quests now, but things like TR Cache remain and seem to haunt this game in a way that adding more quests won't solve. I'd rather see that fixed.
PvP is new, can't do that right now. There is a sub section committed to this, either as a joke to quarantine it as some suggest or because it remains on the table. I would love to see 24/7 PvP as something I can jump in and out off when I don't have as much time.
There are about 4 or 5 pages requesting familiars. This seems like it wouldn't be too much, could roll out with some quests that fit them in nicely. Familiars is a feature we have been missing all this time still.
Maybe 100 new spells instead of a big new raid. Wow, that would be so awesome!
Underwater and air combat systems intact, to add more realism to the game. Shooting missles from the water isn't too real, and very easy! Water is like this magical safe place anywhere in the game.. sharks and eyes of the deep, water elementals, and krakens or swarms of pirahna can change that! It is a feature missing currently lets face it, isn't too cool. Adding this would be cool!
Spears! This doesn't even need a big update does it? Roll it out with a raid or something! Put a few animations together, like was done for Vastani, and let us play cave man builds!!!
Immortality! If you add it.. I will play it!!!
New features that enrich the game are for me more exciting at this point then new quests, because we have so many quests, more are great, but there are so many features that by now, would add more value to the game then another quest would in my perspective because every quest stands a chance to be enriched, the playing experience becomes enriched, and more exciting when you got spears and sharks and more options to choose from like organizing your home and inventory for good, or battling with your buddies in PvP teams for some quick fun when time is tight, or going on a long campaign with them when it isn't.
I said I'd focus on familiars, but nah, instead I'd hope to see new features rolling in on a normal basis like quests do, to complete many of those areas in the game that just are going to suck until they get dealt with. Some may argue who cares about fighting under water? Players who enjoy a more realistic and exciting experience care, and that adds up to a better game too!
Something new, a new feature with next big update aside from the usual class and quest stuff, will add more then adding a class and quest and loot, as I see it myself.
