For the holidaze, I'm going to be visiting family "out in the sticks", without an internet connection. I can roll into town and use an internet cafe, but opening the game itself is just not going to happen.

Is there any way to spend my preciously hoarded pile of DDO points for the upcoming sales via the Forums or elsehow, or am I just SOL?

There's usually DDO Market sales during the season, and those could possibly be used (at your own risk) from an internet cafe, and keep the codes to assign them to your account(s) when you come back.

Beyond that, you're out of luck.

I've heard you can run the game from a USB stick? Set the launcher options to not download, and set the graphics options to lowest, you might be able to get in the game. If the cafe allows usb...

There used to be a way of accessing your store trough your browser, by going on a specific link, I think you can somehow still get there by disabling the in game browser, and having it open in your default one, unless they took it out.

That or just copy/paste your DDO files on USB and play from USB. That said I dunno if the internet coffee will be open during the holidays. You might want to check if you can hook a computer up to your phone for phone internet, if you have a laptop.

I was scrolling through the in game options menu trying to find a setting to turn auto-lfm group posting off when entering a quest alone and I saw a setting referring to what you say. There is an option in the menu somewhere to make the DDO Store window open in your internet browser instead. I haven't tried it, but supposedly you could try bookmarking it if it is tied to your account and thereby access it outside of the game at any time.

Careful with saving and distributing this store bookmark. I heard it was possible for anyone to use the bookmark and have access to your account, spending as they please. Also, it SHOULD timeout after a while, and the bookmark stop working, but I don't know about that.

Yes, I'd expect that to be the case, since I mentioned it being tied to a specific account. Sharing it would be foolish like sharing a link to your logged in banking profile, but I do think you're right that the link will timeout sooner or later and the system may not be sustainable.

Yeah, that's what I'd feared. And Deep Gnome and Dragonblood are both on my list. <sigh>

Small sacrifices we make for family.

Happy holidaze, festive seasonal platitudes to one and all! 0:)
