E-mail/webmail recommendations?

I am having trouble with e-mail demanding a phone number before I can access it. Now I am looking for a new provider of free e-mail that will not gate it behind a SMS capable phone. Any recommendations?

That's the one that started asking for a phone number just as Support changed my game account e-mail to it. :rolleyes:
I don't understand why they insist on sending a text message with a code instead of a robocall. :(

I am testing Tutanota. If it shows itself stable for a couple of weeks, I will beg support for another e-mail change.
