Is there a way to change their size (as in, make em a little smaller?)? I scoured options but either missed it or it's not there. Thanks!

Nope, UI does not scale. Only thing you can do to make them smaller is to increase your resolution. Would be nice if they made some kind of .5x, 1x, 2x scaling method in the options.
