Howdy folks,

As of late, it appears that we have had more problems with trolls and spammers on this forum site. Could SSG please increase the level of security and implement an email verification process to atleast curb down and make it somewhat more difficult for these individuals. Most other forums use this security, not sure why it's not happening here.

I think they turn off new account creation. I also think they forget to turn it back on sometimes.

Bumping in hopes that Cordovan can offer some light on the subject or policy. Thank you.

they have been pretty silent on this - for a good reason. if they detail the security they have they give people the ability to bypass it.

and its just one person.

they seem to either get amusement or revenge for a banning for exploiting.

it should either be notasock12? or something with a play on a vault name next.

I see your point. Though it's not just that individual, there has been fake ID spams on the forum as well. Plus look at Plat scammers posting in the game itself. I just find it sad that adding an email verification process isn't implemented already.

They should set up a Sunny/Snowy Korthos type tutorial to make an account on the forums too.
But make it all text, like Zork.

That would keep them nasty trolls and spammers out!

This suprissed me a few days ago, i know a guy who fell for that 4 years ago and his account got cleaned out.
I don't understand why you would give your log in and password to gain plat.....
I bet a few peeps will for this eventually. Since they spammed the lfm on a sunday for hours.

For that matter, I don't understand why you would give your bank account information to a Nigerian Prince who wants to give you $1,000,000...Then I remember that "common sense" is no longer common :)

Do you have any idea how many people hold weird ideas and are easy convinced by arguments without evidence?

Ati vaxers,
Flat earthers,
Creationists,
Conspiracy theory buffs,
telephone scammers
"pc assist" calls,
Televangialists
The water purification sales scam?

Ohhh, what about the d&d being demonic craze in the 80's? The same nuts who indoctrinate kids that reading harry potter leads to the devil?

You can't hold peoples hand through life, we can however, teach common sence and put in at least some effort in protecting our fellow cittizens from scam artists.
