Next question: Can you hide the barkskin graphic?

I'd rather see my armor than the barkskin graphic. Is their any way to turn that effect off?

No, but if you already have more natural armor than barkskin grants, the barkskin effect doesn't show anymore.

You can also cast Camouflage on yourself--the green tree branches effect only lasts a short while and it removes any effect visuals like barkskin or stoneskin, although the buff still remains.
