View Full Version : Constant resurrection failures need fixing, permanent DOTs, and other data lag

I have had many instances lately where my Raise Dead scrolls fail because the game happens to lag at the wrong time. I have a 130% chance, so it isn't UMD failure. I've seen it happen with others I play with and even my hires have failed their Raise Dead spells multiple times in a row.
I'm seeing similar problems with other mechanics with clickies, skills, etc. where the game forgets what is going on and you lose charges and end up on cooldown but the effect doesn't work.
If I were to guess it all seems to be related to how the game and servers communicate. Lag causes DOT effects to stick permanently on people sometimes (which can be brutal), other times it causes charges to be lost and cooldowns to go into effect without the effect being provided (like Raise Dead). Other times it is stuff like the orbs in ADQ not visually showing up in the right place and hitting you with the effects just because the game data desyncs.
Is there any way this can be fixed? It'd be nice if the game didn't lose important pieces of information that ruin the gameplay experience. The game is going to lag, and I understand that. That's just a fact with online games. But how the game handles it is causing lots of grief.
Often if an effect (spell, clicky, etc) goes on timer but fails to work, if you spam it while it's still on timer, it will go off.
Permadots can usually be fixed by going back into and out of whatever aoe gave you the dot. Or relogging.
That said, those are annoying bugs that should be fixed, but there are some workarounds that work. Sometimes.

/Signed. I don't expect a lag free experience, some lag is beyond the game's control. I expect a lag-consequence free experience, however, that is entirely within the game's control.
Failure at this level is why I've gone from buying every expansion and points every year for myself, my whole family, and my bank bots to spending zero for 2 straight years. Until you fix QOL, no content matters to me. Hurry up, I'm getting tired of waiting.

I have this issue with clickies, boosts and spell buffs. What's annoying is when the action boost goes on timer and don't get the benefit from it. When I start out a quest, I run while buffing and one of the buffs won't go off. It's like there is a cooldown for the previous buff that hasn't finished so the next buff doesn't take.

Glad to know I'm not the only one experiencing this! On my previous life last month as a cleric I often sent out rezs that people did not receive. My spell points went away but the spell did not go off so I'd need to just keep trying. Now on my warlock life I am seeing the same thing with the rez scrolls=(

I've often wondered if the Perm Dot issue could be fixed by adding a 2 to 3 second timer that is reapplied while you stay in the Area of Effect.

Good luck with that these issues have been around for years with no light in sight from Dev's to fix.
but the good news is....
ALT [F4] fixes all these problems.
