View Full Version : Why do we bother?

Devs...everyone is screaming at you guys not to change power surge.

Yet every post from a dev about this issue doesnt change...it seems like you guys dont listen to your customers.
I have played a fighter for 5 years now, and everytime i log in i get picked last in groups and raids, or not at all, because so many other classes do things better.
Forget r10 reaper, i literally cant do anything in it, therefore i never get asked to join those groups.

Quit changing things just cause u can, you are not helping fighters by going forward with the changes that "you" want and your customers dont.

Why do we even bother giving feedback if it is just ignored?
Fighters dont need more nerfs.

Power Surge isn't even the worst thing happening to fighters in the near, at least it will make it work with prowess so there is some upside even if the trade off really isn't worth it. The stupid melee stance that gives everyone 25% free hp that doesn't stack with defender stances screws over fighters far harder than the power surge changes.

Hey it could be worse, you could be playing a paladin at least Kensais have been strong for the longest time, paladins have been garbage since they got nerfed after their pass.

I think I'm just going to give up and TR into a tempest or monk like the devs clearly want me to.

I just played a paladin life last life, it sucked yes. I had to choose to solo elite or r1 or join r3 or 4 groups for better gains and without others taking mobs down would have been very grindy. After that I decided to avoid melee for the next 10 or 20 lifes :P If I can't solo for good reward and depend on the unpredictability of other's, it bothers me unless its just a mule and not my main. Speaking of, I am doing fighter life this lifetime, and decided against melee :D... I am a crossbow warrior (doesn't that sound stupid somehow) that most often gets the attention of bosses, the only things that live long enough to get agro against it. It definitely performs better in reaper. Melee is dependent.

And that is its biggest problem.

At least I have plenty of lives ahead to do to figure out which build will be my final, if things are how they are now with melee, it obviously won't be melee focused :D

I think they could do new things with the game that up the value of melee toons.

Imagine a setting where you can not KITE because your speed it down during combat? You might be a spell caster or ranged, but without kiting mobs will close in and force melee upon you. If such a setting were added, spell casters and ranged might complain how they are so invalidated by it, but melee will be the group that complains least of all and even defends it, stating they got their reaper and melee now has its advantage setting.

There are a number of ways to easily fix this. Very easily. The real question is, is this how they prefer it or do they just like to change from time to time on a whim? Either way I have comprehended a means to adapt and play on. If things change, I adapt. If they don't, I adjust. If I feel like playing melee, it will at this time be on a mule, and if it dies, no big deal, its a 1st life and 1 life only mule anyways.

I don't bother that much with feedback, and yeah, most of it gets ignored, but none of it bothers me. I have fun making my main toon efficient and functional, and if melee lacks that, then I will search for the most efficient ranged and spell caster means, compare them, and try to objectively figure out which is best and most fun to play at same time and go with that. If it changes, I will try to adapt so fast they have to catch up to me, and not the other way around... looking for exploits they did not think of before the implementation of the change.. like Togg Dogs. If things do not change, I will mine the system for what it is and tailor my toon to perfection, fly through the lives asap with max gain, and find my toon polishing off to make way towards final challenges.
