Just ran the challenge The Disruptor--the entropic giant skeleton spawned, but didn't actually appear, so I couldn't kill it to complete the challenge.
As you can see, the map says it should be right here, but it ain't:

I even ran around all over to see if the dot was just incorrect. Nope, I can HEAR its aura effect, it's just NOT THERE.

For the last year whenever I play any of the older quests, none of the chests that have quest keys in them can be seen by my characters. GM's who log in after my required 2hour+ wait say they can see the chest but neither of my characters can no matter how many times I run the quest. This is very discouraging especially if I want faction for a certain house and just reincarnated. For example, ever character I run into the first part of Waterworks, the key is unavailable which opens the door to the end part making waterworks impossible to finish thus making an extra backpack never available because I cannot get Coinlords faction.
So, how many others experience this same bug, and why after I have made 10+ bug reports would the DEVs not even try to fix this ****** bug?

For the last year...
Since it is just you, it is probably your install that is corrupted. Try reinstall.

That would be great if it was only me, but the GM says she hears a lot of this. I play on two different computers, (not at the same time), and they both show the same problem. I thought I installed one not too long ago, but if no one else says they experience this problem you may be right, maybe it is local. I will try re-installing.
It's not an installation issue.
I've ran across locks no appearing, enemies not there, as well as certain quest required things.
Here's a screen grab of a recent WPM run where everyone can see the lock, but it's not on my screen.

For me, it was noticed from around this update onwards.

I was not able to complete one Estar one--Fight to the finish or whatever, the dragon one. Killed everything, six starred etc. 6 levels below and the timer ended...but the quest did not.
I bug reported it and asked in-game but it was weekend...

That is interesting that you did not see the lock while everyone else did. That explains a lot. You see most people run in groups and probably at least one of the players can "see" the items. For the last 4 years I have never run in a group, only play with 5 hirelings or solo, so if I didn't see it the quest was impossible to finish.
Here's the clincher.
On the immediate second run straight after, I could see it. (And if the party chat read in that pic, I know where it is and opened it in the run just prior in that group too). But I did notice that on openeing it, the lock would dissapear. So I don't know if that is connected or related to the issue being experienced.
So it's definitely not an installation issue, but something else. Otherwise it would have been constantly affecting me if it was my installation. But 3 runs (the pic was 2nd run) would eliminate that possibility.

I actually ran with a guild mate a couple days ago who could not see me. I kept running around in circles around him, standing right in front of him and generally doing everything that I could to make him notice me, but apparently I was completely invisible to him. The only way he knew I was around him was because he said that breakables kept getting "spontaneously destroyed" around him. And I don't think he was trolling me either.

I ran the challenge again right after, and the skeleton showed up twice and I was able to kill it both times, so I dunno if this is just a random one-off in my case.
If I HAD to guess, I'd think it was some kind of data loss issue where it's getting one message (your dragonshards are disrupted!) but not getting the spawn trigger for the skeleton somehow.

My hubby and I duo on side by side computers. While running WPM (~30 runs), we encountered this issue at least a half dozen times. It seemed to be random. At least one of those six or so times that the lock was invisible upon approach my character could see it but hubby's could not, else-wise it was invisible to both of us. This is interesting because hubby's computer is newer, faster, and has more memory.
Also of important note:
We always try to pair our characters up such that at least one in the pair has rogue skills, consequently we were mostly avoiding the room with the glass orbs. AFAIR, on the 2nd time the lock was invis instead of restarting we decided to go fetch the key to see if that would make it appear and so far that has worked. Also of interest, we tested it once with my character standing in front of where the lock should be and hubby fetching the key (it was invis on approach to both of us that run) and it never appeared to me but hubby could see it when he came back.
Also sry PB I avoid Kobold Island like the Plague, I have no knowledge of what bugs lie there. But good luck!

I get that sort of when going from the inside of my guildship to the top deck sometimes. I'm invis but you can see my weapon and shield gliding about... its not quite the same as what you experienced but its weird enough.

During the run in my pic, the others had to go for the glass orbs. Both me and the run leader (artificer) - so both unlockers basically, were unable to target the lock as it wasn't visible for either of us. And when the others came back and opened it, it still was not visible for us.
So there's some super strange shenanigans going on here.
Considering that the Monastery Puzzle auto-solving spread to Shroud and now apparently Kobold too, I'd probably suggest that the Devs get a look in on this particular matter sooner rather than later.

Waterworks ain't working right? O.O
Bro... its time to get a new computer, sorry to say, but its not them, its your ****** computer. I have used over 5 computers and never had a single problem in water works. The computer is either old or its set up and graphic display is off.

I don't think that the following is the issue, but i am gonna say it anyway just to be sure.
I had the same issue a lot when i was on a linux box a couple of years ago. I was using Ubuntu and a brand new computer at the time... and a pretty good one too. It might have been the video settings. So i was just wondering if any of you are using linux?

Windows 7 here. My computer is not bad, but I could probably use a new video card. I was mainly seeing if any others had my problem, looks like maybe not mine specifically.

One reason I do not think it to be my computer is that every quest runs without a hitch and very good graphics. I only have a problem when a quest item drops in a chest. In the case of the "Whisperdoom's Spawn" the guy who drops the key for the door into the tunnels spawned, died, no chest/key, the other chest was there to loot though. In Threnal, I ran every part without a hitch until the next to last part where he drops the key to cross the bridge. These are just the ones I remember off hand, there were many. But other than that I had absolutely no problems. I have 30 characters on my account and many have reincarnated numbers of times. I run all of the newer campaigns without any problems. And these problems happen on both of my computers, I think my account may be bugged, it is 12 years old???

If thats the case that means much of this stuff is client side. I hope not because that would be easily manipulated for obvious fight club reasons.

Ran "A new invasion" a few days ago, and we had to ddoor to regroup after a wipe, and one of our group members could not see the ddoor to click on, and group leader cast the ddoor 3 or 4 times, the group member could not see any of them, after relogging the person was able to see and click on the ddoor.

Usually I play on Argonnesson, so I decided tonight to try another server. I went over to Cannith and created a character. Went into Waterworks and Both key chests are not there:

Its been a graphics card/driver issue for me. My guess is when the instance is loading, a driver (or something) doesn't get transferred. I have heard of people logging in/out in the past. Haven't personally tried that though.
The frustrating part is it repeats itself. I've just never been able to do it consistently.

Hubby and I tried this, did not work for us... only appeared after one of us fetched the key.
I'm actually quite concerned about this particular issue.
We have reports of some who got it back by completing the orbs to get the key.
We have reports of some who got it back by moving away and back again.
And we have reports of it not coming back too no matter what happened.
We can't all be right when we've tried what was suggested by the others too. So something is... very screwy. Wondering if we can get a Dev to pop in and say they're going to try and lock this down or at least try and find a possible source. Since according to the posts here, it doesn't sound like it's limited to the new content (and includes critical quest progress stuff too), and could be spreading to other things much like the Auto-Solving puzzle.

As a counterpoint, on my toons without rogue skills, on every one of my ~20 runs I had no problem after getting the key from the glass orbs. So possibly it's tied to that?

Heh, I was going to say that I was in a party where everybody but the two trappers could see the lock... and then I realized it was *this* party! You guys said it showed up after you got the key, though, so I was kind of wondering if it was a flag for "lock-pickers need not apply".

It didn't reshow up for mine. Don't know if it did for the Artificer though. Have a shot after that still shows it as missing. But I think it goes missing after opening anyway. So unsure what's going on here unless a Dev tells us whats "supposed" to happen.

Hi, I'm a dev. This is not okay. Investigating.
I thought this was related to why we need the server reboots and has been happening over the past year. There have been times that the ship amenities wouldn't show up and everyone would have to get off the boat and let it respawn properly (and not after a reboot either!) I would camp a character on the ship to keep it stable. People would not see certain amenities and buy a replacement (it would even say would you like to replace it when it wasn't visible for them).
I saw at least one instance where the amenities disappeared for everyone WHILE people were using them (one guildy was using the bank). We cleared off the boat and came back to let it regenerate.
I don't think that is graphics card related but memory issues/OS stability in general as people with totally different systems see the same issue randomly.
