Three days in a row I have tried to complete a quest and again the quest bugs out and you can't complete.

twice I ran the memory lapse on epic normal - got the end boss with negative 100,000 hit points and he won't die

Twice today I ran thernal - Escort the expedition where you lead Coyle to the library - both time the Enter the Library is unchecked - can't do anything more in the quest - its completed. Again I can't proceed.

Are any quests working this week - I'm beginning to doubt it.

My group tonight was unable to complete the "gather on the airship" objective in "acute Delirium". However, that would be due to the dead person being AFK, with no sign of them returning.

2nd run was totally fine though, except we lost half of the group between those runs.

You have to put the books you collect in some kind of order at the end of the quest, or sometimes you can't complete the quest. Great mechanic for a change. This quest is great because you actually have to read the dialogue. The Librarian tells you what to do. It's a refreshing change from the 'quick dps the boss' at the end quests.

Yeah, its great being forced to do homework. In my opinion, this is the worst quest of the set because of that. I do like the wordplay on the bookwyrm.

It's pretty darn obvious which books to use if you don't just zerg through.

When you pick up a book it either says:
You've found a book for the speech.

or it says:
"You've found a book that could? be used for the speech."

I haven't seen it bug, but have mostly ran it on heroic with heroic character. I also ran it one time and used every book, just more fights to complete. The bugging out might be a problem with over DPSing past the next hp breakpoint? Running a burst DPS in epics or an epic character in heroic quest maybe.

That said, there could be an order... I always open with a joke... because that's just what you do. I think I also always put the thesis at spot 2 or 3, I guess it's possible my natural instinct at presenting something means I hit the right order everytime.

In Memory Lapse, when the boss first appears, damage him to the point where he puts a shield up before placing the next book. That should prevent him from going into negative HP.

Oh is that how it's bugging? I would never have thought to spam all the books in without fighting him in each stage.

Maybe add to the podium when he's active, you can't place a book right now with this guy beating you up...

My experience thus far:
I have run it once on r1.
I gathered all the books (optionals too) and I did NOT place them in the suggested order.
(There is some mildly funny dialogue when you do not)
I noticed with the first book I placed that a shield barrier appeared over the podium preventing me from placing more books.
Also that the boss's shield dropped when I placed the *correct* book.
It stayed up when I chose the wrong-but spawned a group of mobs I had to clear.
For me, within 2 books being placed (1 correct, 1not) I understood how this worked.
The quest finished successfully albeit I did not pull a named item.

I like the idea if putting them in the wrong order is more challenging but still completable. Just, "Do it this way, or the quest breaks" is bad design.

I haven't played since U39 was released. I downloaded the update, and I've logged in a few times to roll daily dice, and there was a patch at one point, but the list of broken things just pushes me away from actually playing. Is there any kind of patch schedule, or list of broken things next to target fix dates that I can refer to to know when I might bother to try to play again?

I've never had him bug either and I think this is exactly why... it never occurred to me to not fight him or not fight the mobs in their respective waves or to try to place all the books as fast as possible.

Ive been in groups where the dome shield never appears. And repeated several times and it didnt matter what order the books were returned.

Love the quest, but something is amiss.

Yeah, same here--run it quite a few times, never once had a problem, even when I deliberately tried to mess it up to see if I could get the bug to trigger.

Do you also consider learning raid mechanics "homework", this quest is even better because the dialogue explains the mechanics and you don't need to flop about trying to figure it out. having a mechanic where you need to pay attention and not zerg through mindlessly is the opposite of homework.

In one of the other threads about this the devs confirmed that you just need the right books, order doesn't matter. Not like it's difficult to figure out though XD
