I just got Dragonborn from the sale. But I'll be honest, I'm really not sure what they're good for. What Dragonborn builds do you like?

If element-based Sorcs were any good, I'd suggest one of those.

DB paladin is the most obvious use of the +2 STR & CHA if you ignore that paladins are a bit weaksauce these days. Outside of certain outliers (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/497024-The-Call-to-Soundburst-(Paladin)) anyway... :p
DB warlock is also an obvious choice; GOO or Fiend Pact to match with Black or Red dragon heritage.
DB FvS is in for a buff in U39 (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/497736-Update-39-Preview-2-Favored-Soul-War-Priest-Revamp). At least I hope so (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/493050-Dragon-Angel-(DB-Evoker)?highlight=).

Uh. . . so suggest something else? This wasn't really a productive reply for what I'm asking. Although I keep seeing this. Is this a problem with late-game, a problem with reaper, or what? (I haven't played wizards or sorcs in DDO much since I prefer the way 1e and 2e worked instead of all these stats and only focusing on one element).

Thanks, this was helpful. The sonic paladin looks like fun, and I was thinking DB would make the perfect paladin if there was a good build. An FVS sounds fun also. Sadly, I don't have warlock.
Any other suggestions from others are appreciated though. I haven't settled on anything yet.

Basically anything that needs STR or CHA would benefit from the dragonborn race. I'm one of those people who rarely ventures too high up the racial tree, and I wouldn't really recommend it in most cases.
I'd probably run a paladin or a warlock as dragonborn, makes sense. Sorc makes the most sense, but people on the forums keep saying it doesn't work if you plan to go endgame with that, so there's that.
Barbarians are getting a buff in U39, so maybe a barbarian dragonborn?..

I mentioned DB Sorc because it was objectively an option. My statement that they weren't any good was a fairly subjective one.
In short, you should decide for yourself whether its good for you or not. My play-style, after all, is bound to be different from yours.
Good luck!

Sorcerer in heroics just getting those lives as fast as possible is quite good. So DB will shine there.

I'm currently pondering a Dragonborn Druid, red dragon heritage.
Since Wrath of the Noonday Sun + Body of Sun (both require assuming Fire Ele wildshape) make ANYTHING vulnerable to fire that gets near you, you can get nutty with the build. You could even go so far as to use the basically deprecated Flameblade spell, because suddenly...nothing is immune, and the flameblade automatically has WIS for hit and damage. +5 Flaming Burst, Flaming Blast, Incineration, Blinding Embers at CL20 may not be awesome, but it's not terrible either. And it would DR break like Celestia, just...fire instead of Light, and due to Wrath of the Noonday Sun, nothing would resist more than the first hit.
And then you breath on them. Empowered, Maximized breathing, for no SP cost.
Oh, and all that fire will strip some of the Fortification off everything you're fighting.
You can even burn red dragons, devils, and fire elementals.
Time for the Silver Flame to retire, you'd be the real flame of purification!

I will try a freezing bard soon utilizing the freezing breath weapon and spinning ice. I love the freezing cc so I think it'll be fun. Maybe something like that?

Pure THF paladin builds all basically look the same (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/470627-Sacred-Knight-For-New-Players-(U29)). Drop a feat, maybe shift APs from SD to racial tree if you want.

I threw together a blue dragon 95% air savant sorcie, w/ breath attack synergy, and it's been a lot of fun.
I've been experimenting w/ a starting that w/ a level of Bard and then a 2nd one about half-way thru, some good boosts in there for survivability. Full ranks in UMD, an emergency CLW (that can do ~30 pts/ when geared), etc. etc.
It's not a 1st-life Reaper Killer, but it's fun for my playstyle.

IMHO, I have played a number of Arties and my DB Electric Critzilla build is just insanely powerful.
Also my dabblings with Sorc as well are just as crazy.
The Breath weapon is pure awesome sauce when punched up with all of the goodies you can pack in there and the synergy with Arty and Sorc.
Arties I find a bit more fun.
