Raid Nights with the High Lords of Malkier!

The High Lords of Malkier welcome you to join us for our public raids every week. Our events are newbie friendly and we're happy to teach first-timers what they need to know to learn the raids. If you're interested in running with and getting to know the High Lords, our public raids are a great place to start! People who regularly join our public raids often get invited to our other guild raids when we have space. Please have sound and be willing and able to follow instructions. If you are new to the raid, please let us know. Raid difficulty may vary from what is posted below, based on group.

Friday Night Abbotfest
What: heroic elite Abbot raid (Accursed Ascension)
When: every Friday night at 9pm ET
Where: Upper Necropolis
How: click on the lfm. First come first served, we do not take reservations. Must be flagged. Level 14+. Please do not be anonymous when hitting the lfm.

If you're new, here's how to flag for heroic Abbot (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/444822-Tuesday-Night-Abbotfest-Hosted-by-the-High-Lords-of-Malkier-all-summer-long!?p=5875991&viewfull=1#post5875991). It requires some effort to flag, but this classic raid contains some unique and coveted loot that is still relevant by today's standards! Abbot is kind of a tricky raid and can be difficult or impossible to learn in a pug since this raid isn't pugged much any more. So if you've been wanting to learn abbot or you're farming for gear then please join us! We usually run 2 Abbot raids each event.

During the winter and spring, we also host Saturday teaching raids for new players. Our teaching raid series has concluded for 2022 but we hope to bring back teaching raids again in January 2023! lol, sry all our raids are in the evening US time zones. Not enough High Lords on during the day to try to get daytime raids going. Hopefully you can join us sometime if you ever have an episode of insomnia :)

A guildie of mine leads the Monday/Tuesday Shroud. A lot of folks have multiple toons flagged and with LGS ingredients being BTA, it's a good way to build up mats faster to have more than one toon running Legendary Shroud. We actually have a guild shroud on Sunday nights, so some of us are running it 3 days in a row. Back in the day it was common for raiders to have 3 toons flagged for all raids so that they could be run on different toons every day... memories :)

The legendary shroud seems pretty popular lately, I wasn't able to attend last week due to the group being filled under a second and yesterday, there was no lfm put up since the group filled up with mostly HL. We were a couple standing outside of the door in meridia wondering what happened.

Hey Ulfo,

Here's is a visual aide that I use when we host HOX as a teaching raid, which shows the "Hall Tanking" method that we like to use, which is a variant of the classic "H" or "collapse" method. In this method, the tank holds Xyzzy in the center of the east hall, which is a longer hall than the others, and the left and right teams end up on both sides. The benefit is that it's more secure, with only 2 positions to defend and larger groups at each position compared to the traditional collapse method.

Can i suggest that fire on thunder peak be moved to last in order either on Friday raids or Sunday.

People participating in Friday have to drop halfway through Sunday or use timer, and in a way can lose spot in raids after FoTP.

I am having bad luck finding the Monday raids. I am sure I am not missing an lfm so I assume you are full with guild members and not posting it any more?

Sorry for the confusion. Looks like Monday and Saturday raids are off the schedule for now. Folks are busy with Hardcore 3 and real life summer projects, so probably for the remainder of the summer we're just hosting Thursday night Abbot as a public raid event. I have updated the op to reflect this.

We've got another public raid night for y'all!

On Tuesday nights at 8pm Eastern time (UTC -5) starting 10 November 2020, I'll be hosting legendary raids so y'all have a chance to farm up some threads and loot. Right now, the menu is as such:


Hound of Xoriat (Legendary Hard)
Defiler of the Just (Legendary Hard)
Project Nemesis (Legendary Hard)
Tempest's Spine (Legendary Reaper 1)
Old Baba's Hut (Legendary Hard)


Minimum level I'll be taking is 26. Please be flagged ahead of time, due to there being five raids on the schedule we don't have time for people to flag while waiting to fill. Please keep in mind that we will only be trying Defiler once per raid night, whether it succeeds or not.

Hound of Xoriat, Project Nemesis, and Tempest's Spine require no flagging.
Defiler of the Just requires flagging by completing The Archons' Trial, Demon Assault, and The Devil's Details.
Old Baba's Hut requires no flagging, but you do have to be able to access the Blue Water Inn by completing Into the Mists.

Hey Elraido, wb! The Tuesday raids have been on haitus for a while so I took them off the list for now. The Thursday, Saturday and Sunday public raids are still active, so the op is up to date now. Also watch for our Saturday teaching raids for the rest of the spring. Details are posted separately in the Sarlona forum each week.

Welcome back! Teaching raids will be returning in a few weeks. Tentativa start date is Saturday, Jan 7. I will be officially announcing teaching raids after New Years. These events are for new folks or people looking to learn raids better or even returning players who maybe missed certain raids while away. Other than teaching raids there aren't any definite plans for more public raids from High Lords right now, it just depends on when guildies feel like they have time to host raids, so it's possible, as our raid schedule is always evolving.
