Just started today. Having a blast so far just because of the complexity. Anyways. I have some questions:

1.) I made a druid. It says Produce Flame is permanently prepared in my spell book so i cant put it in those level 1 red boxes in my spell list, yet when i try to use the spell it says it isnt prepared. What is that about?

2.) Speaking of spells and red boxes in the spells list; I can only have 3 active spells from level 1 spells?

3.) Im on Orien. Im looking for a welcoming and socially active guild. Any Large active guild recruiting?

4.) My first char was a ranger. It allowed me to choose a path. But my druid did not and forced me to choose a bunch of stats, which was freakin fun as hell. However, it worried me that I might have missed out on choosing the paths. Does druid have them? Do other classes NOT have paths too?

5.) Sheathe weapon isnt working when i do /sheathe. How do i put my weapons away? I hate running around with them in my hand. Can we wear them on our hips and backs or what?

Open the character sheet [c], and go to the "spells" tab. If more than one casting class select by class (at the top), then select by level (on the right). Those are the spells you have to choose from, and the ones at the bottom are the ones you have "prepared".

To choose which spells you have "prepared", you have to go to a tavern/inn (or you can do it in-quest @ a shrine), and select which spells you want for the time being - just drag and drop.

(Sorcerers, and others who have "permanent" spells, can spend a bit of coin at their trainers and re-learn a diff spell "permanently".)

Apparently. But you'll get more later: http://ddowiki.com/page/Druid#Advancement_table

Recently, any except the "basic" classes got paths removed. This is mainly b/c the paths have been too demanding to keep up, what with the changes to the game at various levels. Paths are not, as a rule, recommended, for that exact reason - they are vanilla, conservative, and not generally very powerful.

Instead, see this (inc. the 2 links at the bottom of the 1st post)

1) Did you get Produce Flame from your Season Herald tree? That is not the same as the one in your spell tab. If you press [c] and go to your "Enhancement"-tab there are actives and passives. Under actives you should find your prduce flames. Another way those SLA (Spell like abilities) are different is, you can use your Metamagic feats with them, without raising the spellpoint cost. Very handy.

5) In your inventory screen (i) you can have weapon sets. Put a green (free) one in your bar. If you click it, you will go unarmed.

It sounds like you selected the Produce Flame SLA (spell-like ability) from the enhancements. Spell-like abilities will appear on your Enhancements tab, drag it from there onto your bar and then you can use it. If you right-click on the icon on your bar, you can turn on any metamagic feats you have for that SLA. It's a good idea to always turn on ALL metamagics for SLA's because they don't cost extra spell points.

2.) Speaking of spells and red boxes in the spells list; I can only have 3 active spells from level 1 spells?

Yes, but since you're a druid you can change them at a shrine (or in any area that's designated as a "tavern", an icon appears below your buff bar when you're in an area where you can swap spells.
To swap at a shrine, first "rest" at the shrine, and then open your spells to change the ones you have "memorized". Do not do ANYTHING between when you finish shrining and when you go to change your spells, though, because a fair number of actions can cancel the post-shrine period.

My first char was a ranger. It allowed me to choose a path. But my druid did not and forced me to choose a bunch of stats, which was freakin fun as hell. However, it worried me that I might have missed out on choosing the paths. Does druid have them? Do other classes NOT have paths too?

The paths are to help out new players and are focused around the free-to-play classes that new players are likely to encounter right off the bat. You don't miss out on anything by not having a path, all the path does is make some choices for you so that you're not faced with too much complexity down the road. But you can make all the same choices yourself. In fact, most people consider the path builds to be sub-optimal.

This hasn't been working properly for some time, I'm not sure why. The easiest way to sheathe your weapons is to drag the green box from an empty weapons set to your bar and click on that box when you want your weapons to go away, then click on your weapon set to re-equip them when you're ready to adventure.
