Forgotten realms or Eberron based characters

OK I know this is a dumb question. (well two)

Certain deity feats require a character to be Forgotten Realms based, and others require a character to be Eberron based.

When I make a character, isn't it just made on the character selection screen? How do I select one place or the other?

Is it possible to change where a character is based? For example in order to change deity, maybe by reincarnation?

the only forgotten realms based characters are iconics; shadar-kai, morninglord (sun elf), deep gnome, scourge aasimar & purple dragon knight, the rest are all eberron based. You can't change them from being based in one setting to another except by iconic or true reincarnation, so no forgotten realms warforged & no eberron shadar-kai for example. Lore reasons enforced by WotC.

You're fine! It's easy to mess up something like religion, especially when it's barely a concern in PnP (you can usually just pick who you want).

Just note that Bladeforged are not Forgotten Realms characters despite being Iconic, and Morninglords are limited to worshiping Aumanator.

I'd guess you're going for a Silvanus build? If so, you'll probably be best off with PDK.
