A bit of a noob question here, but I figure I must be missing something in the fine print or something. I've been reading up on some monkcher builds and I'm currently running one, and I see all of take the 10 thousand stars feat. I just recently took my 6th level of monk and when reading the feat description for 10 thousand stars it seems to me like it doesn't really work with bows and that the doubleshot bonus only applies when wielding shurikens. I don't see any passive bonuses that are applied with the feat and to be honest I'm not sure if the feat was changed and the builds I'm reading are not updated to reflect the change?? Anyway I'm curious, maybe I misread something, just wondering if 10 thousand stars is worth taking on a monkcher.
Thanks.

It gives you a buff to ranged power and doubleshot, both of which affect bows? Wiki has nothing about a shuriken requirement

I'll have to recheck the feat description again. I'm sure that when I went to take the feat the write up stated that the bonuses only applies when wielding shurikens. I haven't checked what the wiki states but that what the feat description read when I leveled up. Anyway wasn't sure if this was a new change or something, just thought I'd ask.

It only works with ki weapons, and shurikens are the only ki ranged weapon by default. So I can understand why shurikens might be mentioned in the feat description in-game. (Also the fact that the feat is literally named after shurikens, aka "throwing stars.")
What you need is the Zen Archery feat, which makes longbows ki weapons and thus makes them work with 10k stars.

Read 10k stars again, while the feat talks about shurikens, near the end it says something like "zen archery allows you to treat bows as if they were shurikens for this feat".

Why do you want to play Moncher? The FOTM is pure monk with shurikens or Duality....
Shurikens can shoot faster and at the same distance like a bow; and better DPS than a bow.
Are you looking at the arcane archer imbues with Moncher?

Thanks for the responses. I must have missed the part about zen archery in the feat description. I did take zen archery I was just uncertain about 10 thousand stars. As for why I'm playing a mokcher I guess there is no real reason other than its an old build and I have more good bows than I do shurikens. I am using the arcane archer tree as well for the imbues which no longer work with stars. I'm sure my build is far from optimum but so far it's been fun and I've always wanted to roll one up. Thanks again everyone for the help.
