I am making a few "looter" characters on a 2nd account which has access to PDK and BF iconics but no paid races.
As these characters will only really be used to run and loot but never fight I am looking for runspeed including action boosts above all else.
What would you suggest? I am thinking PDK 1 ftr, 2 rng (for +50% action boosts) and the rest in rogue for +1% per level - but I am probably overlooking something :)

My fastest guy is 10 Bard/4 Fighter/1 Barbarian for sustained 30% speed all the time.

Another option is Bard. They also get the rogue +1% per level, they ALSO get the +50% action boost, and they can also get a passive +15% all the time (counts as action boost as well but is permanent. So while it does not stack with the +50% action boost, it is active during the Action Boost's downtime or when you run out of boosts in those long quests). They come with the extra bonus of being buff bots via both spells and bard songs.
If you can squeeze in a Barbarian level or a monk level for the inherent class based passive speed increase, even better.

Thank you. I assume thats +10% from Swashbuckler, +10% from Barb and +10% from Stalwart Defender but do those stack?
The wiki does not seem conclusive to me but I could be missing something obviously.

The best run speed of any theoretical character is probably a leftover Barbarian/Rogue/Monk who is sneaking in Shadowdancer with a run speed boost and a sneak speed boost.
Barbarian/Monk was available for a brief time when the Lesser Reincarnation airship counted as a Tavern and allowed you to do an Alignment change in the middle of your reincarnation. That feature has been removed, unfortunately. :(

They do.
Which is more important: sustained or burst runspeed? Because Sprint Boost doesn't stack with Swift Defense nor Expeditious Chant; all of them are typed the same (action boost).
Best burst runspeed is monk 18 / rgr 2: 30% base from monk + 50% from Sprint Boost (Tempest) = +80%.
Best sustained runspeed is bard 19 / barb 1: 19% Swashbuckler Fast Movement + 10% barb Fast Movement + 15% Expeditious Chant (tier-5 WC) = +44%. It is also second-best burst runspeed with Sprint Boost overriding Expeditious Chant (+79%).

Excellent concise summary -- but does that include the PDK racial speed boost? In other words does PDK stack also so for burst would be 90% / 89%?

on my looter account... I found it was faster to carry the soulstone and then rez at chest.

Pretty sure monk 15/ranger 2/rogue 1 with the last 2 levels in whatever using triple faster sneaking + the shadowdancer clicky is faster burst speed.

Also get a shade’s hood & use the shadowk clickie to run even faster for all scenarios
If you can squeeze in a Barbarian level or a monk level for the inherent class based passive speed increase, even better. Can’t splash monk & bard though

This! Whoot! We have your vids still!
But the SD clickie speed boost is not WAI and they might nerf it someday

Raise Dead scrolls on soul stones is faster than light can travel through Wheloon Purple Haze.

but does that include the PDK racial speed boost?
No because Rallying Cry (both PDK and WC versions) are action boost bonuses, meaning it doesn't stack with Sprint Boost which is still the faster option (+20% vs +50%).
Pretty sure monk 15/ranger 2/rogue 1 with the last 2 levels in whatever using triple faster sneaking + the shadowdancer clicky is faster burst speed.
Good point but devs confirmed a long while back that SD clicky stacking with stealth speed bonuses wasn't WAI; I constrained myself to non-bugs. I also didn't factor in anything like Leap of Faith etc.

In some cases that is indeed the faster solution. I find that in public areas, wildernesses (with a few exceptions) and in some quests where I want to loot multiple chests it is not. Hence I figured I might as well build for speed anyway + low con to die fast for becoming a soulstone :)
I find fastest run speed is pure monk
Seems nobody can keep with me

Anyone try a 17 druid for snowslide, 2 ranger/bard for sprint boost, 1 barbarian?
Snowslide is like wings, but better. Its got like a 20 second cooldown, you jump twice the distance and you get a 10second sprint boost. I dont know if it stacks.

Paid Races or Classes?
Sorcerer/Barbarian = "Wings," +10% run speed, + Boost, and Haste. Is there anything faster?

I ended up making a slower but more buff friendly version.
PDK 1 ftr, 2 barb (10% runspeed and 50% action boost), 12 cleric.
In addition to reasonable run speed this gives extended DW, FoM, GH and TS.
Thanks for the input everyone.

In addition to reasonable run speed this gives extended DW, FoM, GH and TS.Sounds similar to my original dualbox alts: The "mom" build. After setting them all up I eventually deleted them all and re-rolled into my current iteration of dualbox openers, all of which put a heavy emphasis on run speed in addition to their other duties.

Don’t forget the shadowalk clickie/scroll—you will get another 10% stacking run speed & if by some chance you missed a mob, at least you will be displaced!
