I mean, seriously, the folks at Standing Stone Games are constantly pushing out new tech, new content (Ravenloft is absolutely wonderful btw), new races, new raids, new gear, updating feats, enhancements, and destinies...it's almost like they want me to enjoy playing the game. There is absolutely no other game that comes close to DDO in terms of replay-ability or immersion or character customization.
Sure there is a bit of grind for those of us who chose to be triple-everything, a dash of bugs, and maybe there is some work to be done for end game players, but come on...this game is sweeeeeeet!
I have met some great people and just want to say, thanks everyone: firebanshee, whynnd, eyeseetouch, deltabravo, manganese, chowfat, jing, and many others (sorry, it's early, haven't even finished my first cup of coffee, can barely remember my own name so if I missed you...) who have at times had to carry/drag me along for the past 10 years.
Did I mention I love the game? Thanks SSG, keep on keeping on.

I will join you in also not quitting :p
This game isn't perfect and we're not getting everything we want, but I think that last year was the best year for DDO in at least a few years... Reaper Mode, racial reincarnation, Dragonborn, Aasimar, Ravenloft. It started out slow but overall an improvement over at least 2015-16.

Just curious, but why will your head be in a jar and not virtually displayed atop an android body like the rest of us in ~2158? :p

How will they be able to afford that when they've been stuck inside all their lives chained to a computer?
/Just joking. I would sooner let my kids smoke crack than play this game.

Curiously, that sounds an much like a . . . warforged.
The warforged are made of stone, metal and wood fibres. The core of a warforged is a skeletal frame made of metal and stone with wood fibres acting as a muscular system. Covering the warforged is an outer shell of metal and stone plates. An internal network of tubes run through the warforged's body, these tubes are filled with a blood like fluid that is designed to lubricate and nourish their systems.
Possibly... but only if we figure out how to genetically engineer wood/plant materials with a symbiotic nanotechnology. So mmmm could be.

I agree, DDO is in a pretty good place overall. Lots of room for improvement, and I hope they find ways to market the game and bring in new players.

If I only had a dollar for every time someone said they were quitting.
I rather take an € for every time I notice someone obviously doesn't read enough before responding ;)
And yes 95% of DDO is fine but too bad sometimes the developers roll a 1 no matter how high their skills are and then they fail
And unfortunately this 5% can make the quest "successful DDO" fail.
But the good news is you can work on the last 5%! :D

If you like the game and won't stop, why don't you actually play it instead of coming on forum to bring your joy on all?
I hate when ppl keep playing and just can't stop coming back on forum to brag about how they enjoy their experience.

This game isn't perfect and we're not getting everything we want, but I think that last year was the best year for DDO in at least a few years...
I think it's a "Right direction, but needs work" kinda thing.
- Reaper added a much needed new challenge tier to the game, but they kinda screwed the pooch on implementation. What could have been analogous to the D3 Paragon end game/cycle system is rife with issues too long to list here.
- Racial reincarnations gave us something more to do and allow some more flexibility in racial usage but it is still a massive rich get richer situation and just further showcases the faults in the TR system.
- Dragonborn/Aasimar should have been huge announcements with much fanfare and barely elicited a "Weee" from the forums in general. It shows a weakness in DDO community outreach and marketing.
- Ravenloft was some of the best content in years but...that was it. There were no major systems upgrades, no UI overhauls, no new 'things' (Sentient weapons is just Slavers for weapons) really. The marketing for it was 100% non-existent. The intro/build up is literally just "HEY LOOK IT'S RAVENLOFT IN HOUSE JORASCO!" The wilderness is ridiculously underutilized to the point of why does it even exist?
- Looking forward to U38 they're nerfing monks, redesigning druids and adding a 3rd artificer tree but most of their decisions here are questionable at best. The monk nerfs are too heavy-handed and affect every build, not just the overperforming ones. RIP wolves. At least Steel-star is sorta starting to 'get it' with RenegadeM but that tree is still full of useless bloat and it needs like 9 more iterations before it's release-ready.
- I would say that their technical support is still largely a miss and isn't much better than it was a year ago. Unless your trouble ticket is just asking for a points refund because you bought the wrong thing you can end up waiting days, weeks or even months for a response. While Turbine never had the best support, it's been a noticeable steady decline.
So yeah, 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. Progress, but only sorta.

Yes, everyone understood what the thread is about. It is a stab at such threads, most probably a certain recent one. So that line works as well here as in the opposite context. I say you missed your roll on nitpicking :P

It's 01:45, and I am not sure I can be bothered running another quest before bed... so I am definitely quitting in the next 10 minutes... for at least 8 hours, but probably more.
OK... it's now 01:47 and I am rage quitting this game because I keep banging into pillars on my airship, instead of going through the wide open spaces next to them. I absolutely refuse to return to the game... until I am awake enough to run through spaces!

Could you please elaborate? The only logic I can draw is that those with oodles of disposable income can buy a ton of otto's boxes and 'buy' racial completionist. Still weak logic to my mind. If someone wants to spend a few grand on the game, more power to 'em. Keep the lights on, and all that.
I plan on quitting when my great-great-great-great-great grand children finish filling out my reaper trees and I look approvingly on from my head in a jar.

But until then I'll be happily playing away with the old content. Currently running around 3 Barrel Cove enjoying myself finally doing the quests on elite.

Because the OP says he is NOT quitting and therefore if he just only says:

It wasn't misleading. The original poster made a tongue in cheek reference to all the "I am quitting threads". The responder voiced a similar sentiment, he just worded it differently.

So yeah, 3 steps forward, 2 steps back. Progress, but only sorta. I agree with you, especially on the reaper mode and racial reincarnation. The tree itself isn't an awful idea, the amount of power is too much though. I think a max of 250 hp rather than 1,000 would have better. Same with spell points - divide the # given by 4. The martial bonuses are modest but that tree needs a cc clicky for reapers specifically.
For racial TR it should have been more front-loaded to be alt friendly. If they did stat bonus first, then ap bonus then skill bonus it would have been better. And then the grind for the 3x racial completionist would have made more sense because you are not getting much for the 3rd tier it's the mainly the carrot at the end.
