They don't.

This last one closed on a Wednesday - that's about as "after" as you can get, without cycling over to "before" again, no?

Exactly.

Its amazing how people will complain about extra time. Would closing it three days prior be better? Try to be happy with what you get; life will be far more enjoyable that way.

I don't see the topic as a MBG&C session at all. I just think the OP was expressing the viewpoint that since practically every other event in DDO is scheduled to end on a weekend but in actuality does not conclude until the following Monday morning, that the Mimic Hunt follow the same general precedent.

OP, I might be mistaken but I believe the event was cut short in part due to some folks taking advantage of some unintended farming techniques. Not the dreaded E-word, but still gaming the system a bit.

Exactly - if an event's live on a Tuesday, I expect it to go through the following weekend. That why this one was weird. Plus it was short for a thing that's supposed to be every three months and instead is once a year.

Rhetorical question: Will those folks be banned and their toons deleted?
Serious question: What's the difference between an exploit and "gaming the system?"

If this is true - who cares? Anything you can get from the mimic event I'm happy with everyone having all of them.

Were we exploiting anniversary event with infinite 3 minute runs ? I ... guess so ?

Why? Some do, some don't - why base expectations on one fraction of the whole?

I don't get why it is so hard to research the end date of an event?

One of the first things i do when a new event goes live is to go to
whatever source I have to ( livestream, DDO Chronicle, DDO launcher Message, DDO Forums )
and find out the end date.

If knowing the ending date is important to you take some initiative and go find out what it is.
Takes less time then posting a forum complaint thread after the fact and is far less frustrating.

The easy answer is SSG. They designed the event to have some measure of longevity (Remember, the initial run on the Mimic Event was touted as a full-blown replacement for Mabar). They have stated rules and limitations on how the event is supposed to work, and anything falling outside of this stated scope that is not in SSG's best interests i.e. something that both shortens the longevity of the event AND goes against the stated parameters of how it's supposed to work, is going to get their attention.

Nope, I think this is exactly what they had in mind when they set the price of the Kobold Sentient Gem at a whopping 250 party favors.

Fair question, and my response would be that there is a huge difference between 'Purchase one, get twenty while knowing you only paid for one' versus running Lordsmarch Bank during the initial Mimic Festivals just to farm the bank vault. Big oversight on Turbine's part at the time, but they never said it was prohibited, just unintended. Three or four runs of that & the monotony did me in, but there were plenty of people who ran that one quest non-stop at the time to take advantage of those conditions.

Just to take pity on those who can't seem to keep track of dates (and in what I know is a vain attempt at avoiding future complaining), I'll remind those of the end date for the Anni cosmetic gift:
