These were implemented after I stopped playing and I have yet to experience any of them. Most of my time has been spent running epic normal dailies and cleaning up heroic lives. Is there anything worth pulling from the challenges that I could not otherwise Cannith craft? Am I missing anything by not "experiencing" the challenge quests? The bonus got me thinking about checking them out but figured I would check with the experts here first.

Thanks

If you like crystal cove, a fair number of the cannith challenges are similar kobold mining quests (about 1/2 of them). The gear was updated with the crafting change and is quite good. Ring of the stalker is good example of a good item. Also epic ingredients can be traded for tokens for buying hearts.

The eveningstar challenges are easier to solo, basically just beatdowns, and don't require the coordination of the cannith ones and award good exp for first runs. The eveningstar challenges also don't reward items the same way. It is very unlikely to get the effects you want on an items, but a properly rolled shuriken is the best thrower you can get at the level. They roll with several effects including up to 2 heroic shroud effects like radiance(blinds on every crit)/lightningstrike/deleveling/etc. Beyond hunting for just the right set of effects they are an easy source of sentient exp.

It depends on the builds you use. On my assassin/stealth builds, I use: bracers of wind for blur (ML 3 or whatever) and swap them for the ML 12 version for dodge; Ring of stalker ML 12 (manslayer and other goodness like sneak damage and seeker); Frozen tunic for awesome freezing ice (ML 4, then I might use the later one which I have an oldie at ML 14); Blasting Chime for weaken construct (you can make one with Anthem for bard life). I would use the Rock boots but the foot space is occupied on my toon with Mire set and then swapped for speed.

In my epic gearset I have: Epic Ring of Stalker, Epic Spare Hand and Epic Bracers of Wind, all ML 20 and nice consolidation of desirables. I also have an Epic Frozen Tunic which is not bad in early epics.

I am sure others can chime in on their builds such as a WF using the Ring of Master Artificer

Shurikens and throwers there come with spellplague which often procs paralyze etc. You can make a ML 16 paralyzer and a ML 24 life stealer for example like this one (https://i.imgur.com/wlCTzZD.jpg)

Cannith challenges (21+) are the easiest way to farm Tokens of the twelve for reincarnation.
Forming a group really speeds it up, but you can still be productive solo with a hire.

There are a few reward items that might be worth crafting for newer players/characters.

Evenstar challanges (high teens) run once a life for easy XP.

Challenge crafting is very specific, but you will usually find items w/ more effects than you can add using Cannith Crafting, esp at higher levels. The question, then, is... is that specific combination of effects something you want?

Things like Bracers of the Wind are very popular (even w/ combat alts that do not cast electric spells) - there are others.

Actually that is good to know as I recently exhausted most of my token stash with a string of heroic TRs. So I am forcing myself to finish some epic PL's to build up a reserve. Thanks everyone for the replies

EllisDee37 has an excellent CC tutorial here (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/429624-Cannith-Challenge-Tutorials).

I more or less learnt to run them from those.

I like the challenges, but the Cannith ones really need one change that's long overdue. The epic ones need to scale up to level 30 so we can run them at cap without penalty.
Seriously, why has that not been changed yet? The ES challenges go up to 30. Usually I tend to be cautious when it comes to changing the code, but how hard can it be to slap 5 more difficulties onto the list? My understanding is that challenge scaling is automated and not every CR has been handcrafted, so just expand the range and breathe some life into the content.
