View Full Version : Snake Bite: Poison Attacks (+4 to the DC of Poison attacks) + Epic Envenomed Blade?

1. Does anyone know if this would apply to the DC of Deadly Spider Venom on the Epic Envenomed Blade.
2. If it does, would it make much of a difference in terms of landing the poison in lower level EE/R1 epics?
3. Is the DC boost something I could check in the combat log if the poison attack is coming from a weapon property?

1. Not sure
2. No. Even Improved Paralyzing only has a base DC of 25. When it hits in EE, it's because the mob rolled a 1. Making it a Will Save of 29 would not change this.
3. I don't believe so, but could be wrong about that.

This is kind of what I was thinking, though the Poison DC with the Filigree bonus would be 38, still nothing to write home about. I was just wondering if it would increase it at all from it's 5% chance to actually land. Paired with Enervation (1d4 negative levels which is up to -8 saves (effective 46 DC w/Filigree)), I figured it might make a difference. Maybe not.

With the Filigree it would be closer, yeah. If those count, the Toxin Affinity (+1/2/3 to the DC of poison attacks from Assassin) would probably count too, making it a 41 Will Save which isn't horrible. Not great, but not bad.
Not sure enervation would be worth counting for it though, Red/Purple names are immune to the affect and in epics the negs go away faily quickly too. Maybe something like Aura of Menace though :)

I'd use it as an orange name/champ weapon. Might just do it for the hell of it and work up to more poison damage with the set bonus.
