Played a Dark Monk ages ago, but not since 2013ish. Was asked if ToD would hit on Doublestrike and Offhand, I assumed yes, but was later told it doesn't. Can an expert dark monk break down ToD so I know how it works if asked again? Thanks.

Touch of Death does NOT proc on Offhand, but does on Doublestrike - unfortunately that was stopped a LONG time ago with the MotU enhancement update, and that coupled with other poor T5 Ninja Spy enhancements really killed the Dark Monk. The Monk Pass helped Dark Monk DCs, so technically they are better than Light for all non-unarmed builds, but their CCs are clunky to use still. The pass also gave it Melee Power scaling. That, coupled with the power creep of more doublestrike, makes it a pretty solid DPS ability now.

Unfortunately it faces other issues: It is a melee attack, not helping Shuri builds. Vistani has better T5s than Ninja Spy if you're going Knives. And Tempest or many other x-class derivatives are much better TWF than a Monk is, and have better T5s in their trees.

This means that Touch of Death very rarely sees the light of day... but if someone builds for it properly, that move can mean a hit of several K damage every 15s. Though every other similar high damage move other classes gets have no save, work on everything, and can usually hit harder, which again points to other builds if your goal is a high damage skill.
