As far as I'm aware Morninglord weapons can also drop in chests, in addition to those you can get free or purchase with tokens.

What I basically want to know is it possible for the ones that drop in chests (assuming they do) to have mythic bonuses similar to other named weapons?

Thanks

I've gotten several in chests, they do drop and are bta. I'd have to look if any I have are mythic or not as none have been suitable weapon type for my builds and I didn't look too closely.

They should occasionally drop with Mythic bonuses, yes.

Any chance you can confirm that this is working for ALL quest chests in older content too? I feel like some older quests just don't give out mythic bonuses on their loot.

I've got heroic version of the morninglord weapon (barovian greataxe) with +2 mythic bonus. Not sure which quest, but I think it was either Invitation to dinner or Oath of Vengeance.
So in short - yes, they do drop.

I'm pretty sure this actually is the case. Certain chains do have mythic bonus drop chances, but many older quests do not seem to, especially the harbor quests, of which none seem to drop mythic bonus gear (not that the harbor named loot is any good compared to random gen).

I agree. The reason I'm asking though, is supposedly U34 retroactively made "most" (whatever that means) named items have a chance for mythic bonuses. But my experience says that the mythic drop rate on some of the "older" content is either so low that there's essentially a 0% chance of getting it, or the U34 fix didn't actually fix it for all older content.

From U34 release notes:
"Most named items in the game can now be found with special Mythic bonuses on them. Additionally, named items found in Reaper Difficulty can have a special Reaper bonus on them."

It's unclear whether they said "most named items" because some named items are only quest rewards, crafted, or in explorer areas, or because U34 didn't work for every quest chest for whatever reason. For people farming for the best possible version of any particular item, this is a very important piece of information to have.
