DDO Bonus Days: Veteran Status 3 and Festivult Coins!

Veteran Status 3 is now available! Players can now create characters at level 10 through December 17th! The level 10 character also included gear and a cleric hireling contract.

Also, Festivult Coins are now appearing in chests throughout Eberron! The Festivult Jester arrives later this month.

If it's working properly...
You make that selection when you talk to the NPC Thealeh Auryath, who offers you a selection of starting at level 1, or an advanced level based on the vet status options you have access to.

Ponderance: I'm guessing you don't have access to Vet I or II already. With Vet III only, are you starting off on the airship now?

While this event is running, all brand-new (and non-Iconic) characters should be starting on the Airship.

The starter gear is similar (identical?) to Veteran Status II items, except the weapon. It's ML10, 1.5[W], +5, Acidic 3d6.

Thanks for the clarification! Indeed I don't have access to any veteran status, so I guessed it would be an option at character creation or something.

Minor bug with Veteran Status 3

Rolling daily dice and taking the XP before speaking with Thealeh Auryath won't advance to level 10.

Thealeh Auryath says I'm sorry, there seems to be a problem.

The only option is to be sent to the Marketplace with no gear.

Unless they've fixed it, that is an issue with all Vet versions. I made that mistake once ages ago on a Vet II.

Is it possible to TR and start at level 10 during the event or does this only apply to creating a 1st life toon? I play casually and this would be a huge boost to my extremely slow advancement schedule :D

I think you have to finalize it on the ship, unlike Iconics. First you level up, then you talk about enhancements. This progresses the "quest" while on the ship. That allows you to talk to the equipment minotaur, and that also progresses the quest. I have not tried to just talk to the NPC that hands out the XP and then booked it to the captain to beam me down though.

That said... sure, I could get behind this. Another money maker, and therefore something else for people to whine about how it's "not fair" and "a slap in the face" and so on. Something we didn't have before and are asked to pay for, therefore it must be "evil". :rolleyes:

I don't believe it's ever been a 'pay 2 play' option, and if the price was right there's no reason it wouldn't result in some modest sales. Particularly if it was offered as an occasional one-off, like the 15th Anniversary stuff or Otto's boxes.
