Sentient Weapons!

As sentient weapons are coming soon, I hope we can have a weapon in the fashion of the legendary Ego Sword from The Bard's Tale (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bard%27s_Tale_(2004_video_game)). ;)

The one thing I really want from them is to make sure that crafted 2 handed weapons are comparable to 2 one handed for effects. TF weapons started down that track but nothing since then. While I am more specifically concerned with caster weapons I think it should be applied to melee as well.

As an example if LGS was done the way I would like to see it would be:

2 slots for each level this would mean they would need to craft just as much as the 2 weapons, the second slot would add 50% bonus over the first of the same type. This would allow 2 weapons to be more versatile and have 2 lots of effects but the 2 handed would have a 50% stronger effect.

I have read the Eternal Champion stories fairly extensively, and I'm not sure the sword Stormbringer would be very suitable as the basis for a sentient weapon personality. The only words I recall it ever speaking were those it uttered after it had killed Elric and of course consumed his soul, since that's what it did: "I was always more evil than you."


I'd have included a spoiler alert, but there is a statute of limitations on those things. Rosebud was his sled.

Glad that someone brought this up, i highly doubt it though, just like most other crafting systems, melee will be a mere afterthought.
Not many devs, if any, play a 2hander and if they did, they are prety bad at lobying for them.

Lol, they recently copy pasted some of their own older work so at best they have made a simplified 4,0 version. Just like al the other content they have been cribbing of late.

Althought the artwork improved inmensly the last 5 years, sadly the content and ballance took equal steps backwards.

Yep, wouldn't really want things to go that way in DDO, although that's a hell of a line. Maybe it could say that before every TR, though. :D
