I'm looking at TR'ing and im interested in a couple of monk builds possibly. Wanted some feedback on it to know what I'm getting myself into. I like fast attacks, I like melee, and I like being able to survive really well because I end up soloing a lot. I also have very little epic experience and would like a build I can take into epics and do well with.

Currently I am thinking about TR'ing into either:

A pure monk qstaff build or

A 9 druid/monk wolf form build

Any input on these would be great. Thanks! And suggestions for non monk builds is fine too if they fit the bill.

May i suggest a pure monk henshin staff build. take dark path and Shadows Cannot Exist Without Light as the tier 5. I suggest you use dex to damage which means you will evade almost every trap. I tried this build on reaper 1 and it did well. On epics i only did EH. But this build really depends on the staffs you have. I used half orc for the enhancements but you can choose human for extra healing amplification instead of DPS. Haven't tried human. May increase survivability.

You should have some of these:
Nicked Quarterstaff for level 2 if you can't CC one.
Chieftain's Spear lvl 4 - really good low level staff. Check AH. expensive.
Elemental bloom lvl 7 - best staff in game
Stave of the seer lvl 8 - can sometimes be bought from AH. Expensive but better than theurgic stave.
Theurgic stave lvl 8 - Easy to get. Good alternative to elemental bloom.
Breeze lvl 14
Luminous Truth lvl 16
Bone crusher lvl 18
And then there is the one from the new mines of thetyamar. I forgot what its called.

That covers the heroics.

Let me know if you need further advice on this.

+1 to unarmed monk. What tomes, past lives, etc do you have? A DEX/WIS unarmed, whirlwind build is pretty standard and there's not a lot of choice in terms of feats and enhancements.

But they are hella fun to play. And if you really want to learn the class, I recommend playing a stock, light unarmed build first. There's a lot of buttons to mash.

Kodraith, my main, has decent gear (some slavers, +5 tomes) but not that many past lives and is still pretty ok at capped reaper under r4 or so. I have a Stunning fist DC of 103, which is respectable.
