Trying to play a melee toon capable in reaper. Last life did a tree build and had some cc issues.
This is a 18 bard 1fighter 1wizard melee Cha based toon
Concept of the build is having max CC for reaper difficulties, acceptable damage and survivability

otto's sphere
otto's irresistible dance
mass suggestion
charm monsters mass
fascinate (song)
SPinning ice (enhancement)
Frozen fury (enhancement)
Dire charge

HOW TO PLAY IT

build is designed to start each attack with 1 or 2 cc abilities
Then use dire charge cleave Gcleave spinning ice and frozen fury combo to maintain cc on mob
Cha to dmg is good for this build
My main problem actually is mediocre DPS working on improving it

Looking at your feats, what spells do you plan on heightening? I've never used that metamagic on a bard. Typically they have charm spells at almost every level, and you have mass charm monster and mass suggestion. I would just take turns using those two as opposed to heightening a lower level spell. Also, lingering song, while nice, is not increasing your DPS at all.

I don't know if you are married to great sword, but if you dropped those 2 feats you could get TWF and Improved TWF for 40% more attacks, you'd just have to use short swords to still benefit from PDK CHA to attack/damage. I know that would take ability reworking.

Alternatively, Swashingbuckling only takes 6 AP. You could take SWF and Improved SWF. I think those would probably increase your DPS over greatsword. And if you could do without Force Personality, you could even fit in Greater SWF.

In terms of tactics, if you don't already do this, you can start each fight with spinning ice to make all the mobs take 50% more damage. Then nuke them with SLAs and Cleaves while they are frozen. I've never used Dire Charge, but I would use it after Spinning Ice wears off to maintain CC. Since you are in Fatesinger, your SLAs would HUGELY benefit from the Master of Music feat, it would nearly double their damage.

For Gear, if you have things constantly helpless or otherwise vulnerable to sneak attacks, you might consider an Epic Ring of the Stalker over the Legendary Ring of Prowess. Unless Accuracy is an issue, then stick with Prowess.

These are just a few suggestions. I don't know how far from your initial build you are willing to go.

Good idea, I changed Lasting inspiration for Holy strikes to have ghost touch for Reapers. So i dont need ghostly (but i lose 10% icnorporeal) in the equipment and free amulet slot (need to think what to use)

Then about fighting style: the build should work mainly with cleaves, so I dont think single weapon fighting or 2wf could add some benefits. Maybe 2HF could help but embolden and heigthen can help with some spells: for example SLA sonic blast can bypass SR and can stun all drows for few seconds

Will try sneack attack soon
