i logged off irritated now
logged in - no lfms - on my first life monk that im trying to gear up.
level 21 just has 1 ed in gmof getting xp to get better right
no biggie - started one
did first set of ee quests in the kings forest
a few deaths nothing serious
do first 2 quests in underdark. had issues with endfight in death undone
get to broken chains. have a new person in party
jumps up the diff to r5.
im having issues with ee on this char!
his response - well i can handle it. just sit back and pike.
no thats not why i play the game. i play to play. i like the challenge of reaper, but right now, i can maybe contribute in r1. maybe.
well that just really irritated me, and im done with ddo for at least tonight, maybe a while. take care.

tl;dr
ran into a jerk that wanted to do r5 when i wanted to do elite.
basically needed to vent. i like reaper to a point, but sometimes i dont want to run reaper.

You were the party leader and this new person just went ahead and entered on R5? Well that's just really poor party etiquette on their part.
Sorry one bad apple ruined the end of your evening. I recommend some nice relaxing S/R/E for the XP and fun.
P.S. Might be nice if there was a way for the party leader to eject mutinous or disruptive party members from the quest - perhaps with the approval of half the other party so it's not abused.

That sucks OP. I also hate it when people do stuff like that.

Or a prompt that gets sent to the party leader when someone else in the party tries to enter a quest stating "party member X is trying to enter quest Y on difficulty Z. Are you ok with this?"

Been there. Recall, drop party, re-enter fixes it.
But then I'm cynical enough to almost expect that out of random people, so don't generally get upset when it's lived down to.

to the opener: I feel ya. not being very uber myself, I hate it when people hijack my LFMs and reduce me to piker without even asking. fortunately it does not happen very often, and I go for the drop group start over option afterwards usually. Still wonder why people even JOIN an LFM if they are not happy with what is being done in the LFM. If they wanna solo r5 - go ahead and leave me alone.
as for booting-from-group options.... I feel those would generate far more animosity than anything else. Besides, a lot of more casual players don't like listing LFMs as it is, if they are to actually manage the group and make decissions on who gets booted in case of conflict.... I think that would reduce the willingness to up LFMs even more. Hell, I have a lot of days where I am like 'No, I don't wanna put up with random people and not knowing who I am walking into'... and I am sure I'd have more of those if I am suddenly expected to maintain world peace too...

+1 for a rather ideal sounding solution.

I can a bit understand how you feel.
But I don't mind piking, and I like RXP. I would have enjoyed the ride while swapping to fatesinger.

I don't see many LFM's for reaper in epics myself, EU time zone maybe part of that problem. But to be honest most groups and I am one are running XP EN dailies, since a few quests give a lot more xp in a fraction of the time. It is a bit boring but I tend play for short periods and I can run the 5 or so quests easily in an hour or so. Leveling seems quick and easy. I joined one gp to run R1 in storm horns but we gave up as it was slow and hard going. Sagas just don't really seem that rewarding.
