Hi everyone,
I am returning after several years, last time I played was just after release of warlock if I remember correctly, and I have some basic questions for ya:

Currently I have a cleric built for DC casting. I have read that a necro caster should work but, how does that work in epics? (I need to run 20-30 for this tr) I ran into a epics from EH to R1 every time I see the mobs have Deathward so how are you going to land destruction, slay living on them with DW?

Given the difficulties I was having with DW I switched to good old BB. Now that works great as long as you can kite them though the bb. For those archers/casters what spells are you using to dps them down? Has there been any spells that have been buffed or are particularly effective? I have been using DP for may of them.

While I didn't take any SLAs in my enhancement tree, is caster dps towards using them with all the metas for dps? (I went aura and used the cap for discipline all universal crit and spell power.)

Currently at 20 sitting on 293 light and 254 positive with a crit chance of 24 for light. Are this numbers about right for level 20 or do I need to dig though the new gear for this level?

I remember running EE almost all the time but, with this toon I feel the dps is too light for EE and I am running EH. For R1 I am not having a problem with survive ability but, with dps. Is this the normal now for Reaper levels?

While teaming, reaper difficulty mainly, I don't really worry about dps and just concentrate on CC and healing. Is this the norm on reaper difficulties or am I missing something. There have not been any complaints, I just want to make sure I am playing the cleric to all she can be.

Slaver sets - I keep hearing how they are really great for tr but, if you completely build them how long do they stay relevant?

So imo ...

Evocation greater than necro.

Implosion (if you have plenty of twists and arcane alacrity past lives) you can hit this every 45 sec.

Soundburst and Burst of Glacial Wrath both are evocation based for your helpless CC.

Sun Bolt is your DPS weapon. Sunbeam and Sunburst also in the rotation.

That's pretty much all you need.

You'll solo any EH ... also EE if you are used to it. Reaper you'll contribute nicely to a party with CC, heals, and instakills (Implosion). Clerics still suffer from the spell point cost vs mob hp in epics for solo players. Having a torc or other spell point rejuvenating item helps greatly.

Also when you drop a BB, drop something else in it too also help ... Symbol of Death or other such symbol, Consecration, etc.

Thanks for the Reply!

Ya, I am spec'ed for evo. I did think of dropping SoD but, implosion lands on stuff without DW and I didn't see an effect with SoD because of death ward but i could have miss spoken. I will load up those spells and see how that goes.

DC caster Cleric can work just fine in Epics. There's really not that many things that are deathwarded.

DC casters often don't have good DPS. That's why I don't generally solo on mine. Instakill what you can, and CC what you can't instakill, and let DPS toons in party beat it down.

If you're contributing, and not having any complaints, and having fun, you're doing it right.

Some people swear by them, but I don't share the hype for the heroic sets. I don't want to grind for, and dedicate 5 slots to, something that, while awesome at level 8, looks behind the curve by level 13 or so.

(The Epic sets aren't out-leveled; they're as good at cap as they are at level 28. The devs are gradually invalidating them, too, with ever-higher stats on new loot, but they're not dead yet.)

Evo has advantages, especially if you're more into nuking than DC casting. Or if you are behind on DCs (due to gear or whatever), Evo has more ways to make that up.

But Necro still has triple the instakilling potential.
