Adding LOTRO to DDO account via MyAccount page

Hey all, I don't normally need much help with this sort of thing but I'm completely stumped and everything I can find on the topic is years old and/or doesn't redirect properly...

I am trying to work out how to add my LOTRO account to my DDO on the MyAccount (myaccount.turbine.com and myaccount.standingstonegames.com are both the same) page, as far as I can tell it requires some sort of key, I have no idea if SSG even do this any more or not so if somebody could help it would be appreciated.

Since the SSG split from Turbine, this type of thing requires a support ticket.
Caveat: While there are posts on both the DDO and LOTRO forums about folks being able to add
new instances of the "other" game to their existing account via a code sent from support,
I haven't seen anything about linking two existing game instances.

Kind of off topic sorry, but do you have to pay for LOTRO if you have VIP? Or does VIP have nothing to do with LOTRO? Thanks, Crok

I just recently did this. You need to place a ticket on help.standingstonegames.com asking for a lotro key to add to my ddo account. It took a week, but I eventually got it.

They are different subscriptions. VIP here doesn't give you VIP there, nor vice versa.

But just to be clear - LOTRO has the same setup as DDO, so you can play all the early stuff for free if you want to check it out.

I have heard back from support and they have said that they can not merge together two accounts that have already been made, the best they can do is open a NEW account and link it to my DDO account. This is of no use to me since I have content that I have paid for and I am not paying for it again.

Whats the difference if they are linked or not? You log into one, you type password, you play. What am I missing?

If they are linked then they both show up in the MyAccount page which shows you what you have bought for them. For me, for DDO, it shows that I have the expansion packs and shows my billing date and various things. The problem is that I can't see one for LOTRO at all anywhere so I have no idea what's going on.
