Spell Agility +5 Blue augment ___BUG ????

As you may have read in other posts DDO has been giving me issues of late.
I am not happy with them… so please excuse the tone of this post if you see one.

Now, once I am finally able to use the DDO store again, I spend 95 DDO Points to get a Spell Agility +5 Blue augment.

This Gem does NOTHING!

My arcane spell failure chance remains the same.

I even logged and re-logged… no go.

The DDO Store states….
Upgrades any item that has a properly matching Augment Slot to reduce your Arcane Spell Failure by 5%.
This benefit is an Enhancement Bonus.

The in-game display and the DDO Wiki state…
Arcane Fluidity: Your arcane spell failure chance while wearing armor is decreased by 5%/10%/15%.

Is Arcane Fluidity not a DROW Racial bonus?
Thus should stack?

Both state the Arcane Spell Failure is either decreased or reduced there is nothing about only the highest being applied.

OR am I missing something?
IS there hidden information on why an Enhancement Bonus from an item does not stack with a Racial bonus?

I read that they are working on Drow Spell Resistance not stacking with items is this another one that should be put on that list for the next patch?

OR am I missing something?

Well about that.

The number displayed on the armor/shield is not your real ASF.
To see your arcane spell failure, hover over a spell on your hotbar.

Thanks SO MUCH for this info : )

As you assumed I was looking at the SF on the Armor.

With the Spell Agility +5 Blue augment OFF the Spells on the hot-bar have a 4% SF.

With the augment ON the Spells on the hot-bar do not have a SF.

Again thanks for this… this post can be closed out.

Quick update this ONLY works for Armor SF NOT for Shields.

The augment reduces your total spell failure regardless of source.
Racial enhancements on the other hand have no effect on arcane spell failure from shields.

The augment reduces your total spell failure regardless of source.
Racial enhancements on the other hand have no effect on arcane spell failure from shields.

If I get, for example, a Small Wooden Shield off the NPC in the Harbor in Yellow it lists a 5% Spell Failure.

If I mouse over a Spell in my spell book or on my hot bar while this Shield is equipped in Red it lists a 5% Spell Failure.

If I put an item on with Spell Agility +5 Blue augment this penalty goes away as it should.

Now, if I get, for example, a Padded Armor off the NPC in the Harbor in Yellow it lists a 5% Spell Failure.

If I put an item on with Spell Agility +5 Blue augment this penalty goes away as it should.

However, if I now equip the Small Wooden Shield the Spell Failure goes to 10%, thus Shields and Armor seem to add together and the augment only reduces 5% of this new value.

That was my confusion when I added a Shield before and the augment did not seem to change anything. I did not think they would add or thought, incorrectly, that if both were 5% then a 5% reduction would apply to both.

Thanks again for the help : )
