I am fast on my way to lvl 30 and my last iconic past life. I have to iconic tr to get it (I guess) but then what? Do I have to go all the way back to 30 to get out of iconics? I'd like to go to 20 and heroic tr but for some reason I don't think you can do that.

I don't want to bork this up lol, thank you in advance for your assistance.

When you Iconic TR at 30, you will get to choose a new class/race.

If you pick a non-iconic at that point, then you can go to 20 and TR again.

If you pick an Iconic at that point, then you have to go 15 to 30 again to TR.

(Essentially Iconic TR does NOT mean you have to pick an Iconic again... it is just the term for TRing an current Iconic character)

If you are on an iconic, at 30 you can iconic TR and go to a iconic or regular race. If you go to a regular race you can then TR at 20 or go to 30 for the ER. If you go to another iconic, you will have to go to 30 again. If you do an ER on an iconic you have to go to 30 again.

One thing to do to help yourself is think of Epic TR's as a completely different beast from iconic/heroic/racial. Epic TR is its own thing that follows its own set of rules.

So ignore Epic TR for now. Pretend it doesn't exist.

With that out of the picture, the simplest way to explain it is that the type of TR you do has no impact on the character you make after you TR. The character you create determines what type of TR you can do.

So if you create an iconic character, you'll be doing an iconic TR. You can do this once you hit level 30.

If you make a regular character, you'll be doing either a heroic or racial TR. You can do this any time after level 20.

Once you TR, you get sent back to character creation and can make anything you want all over again regardless of the type of TR you did. If you were iconic you can make a heroic or iconic character. If you were heroic, you can make a heroic or iconic character. Doesn't matter.

That's probably the biggest confusion. Players think that if they want to play an iconic, they have to do an iconic TR. Or that they have to do a heroic TR at 30 after playing an iconic to get back to playing heroic characters. That's not the case.

If it's your last iconic past life you should be able this question yourself as you should have done this more then a dozen times before.

At level 30 you do an Iconic TR, for that you'll get two things:
1) An Iconic past life, based on the iconic you choose at character creation.
2) A Heroic past life, based on the class you have the most heroic levels in (assuming you didn't do an even split multiclass).
After that you have to start at level 1 if you do an heroic char creation or at level 15 if you want to do an Iconic.

Somehow I get the feeling your talking about epic destinies... dunno why tho.

I'd like to go to 20 and heroic tr but for some reason I don't think you can do that. Your current life -- which after reincarnation will give you your final iconic past life -- must go to 30 before you can reincarnate and get that final past life.

When you reincarnate at 30, you can reincarnate into anything you like: iconic, regular, whatever. Whatever you reincarnate into determines the rules for that life.

I didn't do all of the Iconic TR's, just the Morninglord one. When I look at past life feats is shows Moringlord acquired two times. When I hit level 30....

Do I have to iconic TR to get the third past life?

Is there anyway I don't have to go all the way back to 30 as an iconic?

I've done this morninglord 3x and I do not like it....If I have to go all the way back to 30 and then can I Epic TR and Immediately Heroic TR.

It just seems I'm in a TR loop I can't get out of to get that last Morninglord past life feat....

So when I get to 30 what kind of heart do I use to get back to level 1 and will that still give me the final (3rd) Iconic Morninlord past life feat?

Thanks for the explanation, I'm almost there :)

To get your third Morninglord past life:

Level to 30. Iconic Reincarnate.

Gain Past Life: Morninglord and Past Life: (Insert Dominant Class Here)

Create new character. You CHOOSE whether to start again at level 15 as an Iconic, OR level 1 as a non-iconic.

If, on your next life, you want an Epic Reincarnation immediately followed by a Heroic Reincarnation, you will want to choose the level 1 non-iconic option.

At lv 30, you have two viable choices:
* Epic TR: Same class, down to 20, look like you don't want to do that
* Iconic TR: Totally new character.

If I'm reading your post correctly, your confusion lies in a common misconception: that Iconic TR means you TR into an Iconic.

As per the chart posted above, Heroic TR and Iconic TR both lead you to fresh characters: Either LV 1 in Korthos, or LV 15 Iconics.

Therefor, what you want to do is Iconic TR to obtain your 3rd past life, and after that you can do whatever you want!

You have won DDO! At least the understanding of Iconic TR's!

Thanks everyone for your wonderful input, good luck to ya'll on your future questing and adventures.

Help me not Bork this up!

First of all you should capitalize my name. Second of all, you seem to be implying that I screw up my ERs,TRs,IRs. I can assure you that I have become quite proficient. If you in fact Bork your ER, TR, IR - I can attest you will be quite successful.
