So I gather that there are some good symmetries between the new race and this class, but I have not played FvS in several years, so I am looking for some advice on reincarnating into one. Do any of you kind sirs and maa'ms have any idea on where to go with this one?

Hi All,

A question please.

I want to try this new Dragon Born as a FVS Melee so does anyone have any ideas on the build?
Shall I go pure FVS? or say 16 fvs 2 cleric 2 sorc? or do I need the full fvs path to get all I need for melee?

I would say try to do one of the Silvanas its a 6ftr, 6 monk, 8 fvs, that uses mauls

Silvanus is a Forgotten Realms deity (http://ddowiki.com/page/Deity_feats). As a starting in Ebberon race, can a Dragonborn be a Follower of Silvanus?

I went DC Evoker and it seems to work fine. I did Plate + Tower Shield + Blade Barrier, Holy Smite, Soundburst, Destruction, Banishment, Sunbolt and Searing Light and Nimbus of Light when those are more cost-effective.

It's kind of like a Cleric with Wings. Nothing OP but reasonable play value vs the meta for a solo player.

It's also possible to melee stuff down with the right beater and guards going but I only do that when I'm in conserve mana mode on a long quest with few shrines.

When is FvS on the list of class passes? I remember they announced which ones were coming up next, and I don't recall FvS being one of them.

I'd stay pure if I were you. Even though the capstone isn't particularly good right now, FvS and Cleric passes are next (or very soon) so it's bound to get better.

For a meele character I would suggest 17/3 fvs/pal: meele prof + def stance + very high saves + free cleave and still keep wings (if you think to play epic)

And your saying that the toon would only use mauls as weapons?

You can't use the Silvanas feat (which takes advantage of mauls) as a Dragonborn. Only Purple Dragon Knights, Gnomes, and Shadar Kai can choose the Silvanas deity feat.
