If i am playing an earth savant and am using acid blast to improve the dice check would i need to take spell focus conjuration instead of evocation?

FYI, OP, bolded spells have no DC check, so Spell Focus et al is irrelevant for them. Which historically has been one of the primary advantages of Earth Savant: i.e., they have the most no-save DoTs of any Savant. The downside is their spells are mostly Conjuration while other Savants are mostly Evocation, which makes DC-gearing an Earth+<Water or Fire> Savant combo more of a PITA than an Air+<Water or Fire> combo.

Also note that while Meteor Swarm is tagged as both a Fire and Earth spell, it's only affected by Combustion and Impulse Spellpower and is unaffected by caster level bonuses. So personally I don't consider it a "real" Earth Savant spell.

Thank you for the responses i thought that was the way it worked but wasnt sure. I noticed that clerics past life gives conjuration dice check bonuses i guess i would be wise to add them to the past lives i should get.
