Still no word on the orb I'm looking for (Acidic Sphere), but I'll continue to farm and update the OP as we get more information.

Currently I'm unsure whether items are quest exclusive, but I have yet to see (or hear reports of) any overlap.

Edit: Though it looks like the wiki has been updated for some items, and Acidic Sphere appears to be in Black and Blue. I'll keep farming to verify.

Yeah, I've received several confirmations that the Acidic Sphere drops in Black and Blue, and personally pulled about half a dozen bolt spheres from the same. No Acidic Sphere for me, though. :( I haven't been updating this list because the wiki pages are already complete (those that weren't I updated myself), so any further revisions are old news at this point.
