Character Unable to Join Own Guild on Same Account

Has anyone run into this issue before?

Created alt. on same account as guild. Sent guild invite to newly created alt.

On receipt, detached the 'Sigil of Guild Recruitment', opened up inventory and double-clicked to join guild.
Auto declines with message: "You decline ... invitation to join .. guild."

Tried same several times and same result. Logged out and in, same result. Created and disbanded guild on alt, tried again and same result.

Am I just daft today or what?

This has happened to me - I had the Option to Automatically Decline Guild Invitations turned on for that character.

As I recall, somewhere in the settings there is a check box for automatically declining guild invites. My guess would be this (accidentally?) got enabled at some point and you need to find it and disable it.

Esc >> Options >> UI Settings >> Ensure 'Accept Guild Requests' is enabled (checked).
