Iconic human purple dragon knight

Hi All,

A question please,

This is my first go at a purple dragon knight human build.
So far I am level 16 with a build of 10 fighter, 5 pally and 1 sorc and I want to end up with 14 fighter, 5 pally and 1 sorc then epic go all the way with this to lvl 30.

Question is how do I get my armor class ac and physical and magic resistance high?

Can you please advise me what feats I would need to take and what enhancements/epic destiny paths I should go for?

Is AC, PRR and MRR what you're worried about? In that case https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/476148-The-Elven-Steel-Maiden-(-AC-Fighter-) is a pretty good guide for getting your AC high, although you might want to play around with it a bit to get the PRR/MRR up there (maybe take T5 sacred defender instead of stalwart defender). Sorc EK is the same as wizard EK, so you can take the same enhancements in that tree as suggested.

Setting aside the question of whether this is a good idea - since I can't tell what you're trying to accomplish with this build :confused: - the options available to this particular class split:

the Heavy Armor feats (http://ddowiki.com/page/Feats#Heavy_armor_Passive_Feats) add up to +30 PRR/MRR
Sacred or Stalwart defensive stance for +25 PRR/MRR (and other bonuses). You can't use both simultaneously, so pick one or the other.
Sacred Defender's Harbored by Light is +25 PRR/MRR (33 APs)
Bulwark Aura for +5 AC (8 APs)
Improved Mage Armor (Eldritch Knight) is +10% AC (4 APs) and stacks with Combat Expertise
The passive AC bonuses from Sacred D. and Stalwart D. will stack with each other (e.g., Armor Mastery, Shield Mastery); I think PDK Shield Mastery enhancements will stack too, although it's expensive at 2 APs per tier.
IIUC, Unyielding Sentinel's Shield Prowess won't stack with Sacred D's Reinforced Shield (same bonus type); however Reinforced Shield from Stalwart D will stack with either (different bonus type). So plan accordingly for epics.


BTW, don't forget you need 6 pally lvls for your activated deity feat (http://ddowiki.com/page/Deity_feats), so consider that before stopping at only 5 pal lvls.

Hi all,

Ok I need some help here I am now lvl 20 and here is my purple dragon knight build with stats and feats mentioned.

so far I am 12 fighter 6 pally and 2 sorc I took the 2 sorc to get the enhancements improved shield do not know if this was worth it?

I am using tower shield and bastard sword and I would like to be a tank so my question is how do I get my AC and PHY/Magical resistance up?

Here below are some screen shots of my stats with tome added on and in the enhancement tree I have gone for stalwart defender and a buit of vanguard for shield bash.

If I need to redo my stats and feats please can you advise me on this and on the epic destiny I have taken unyielding sentinel.

8 APs into EK gets you Imp Mage Armor (+10% Ac) and Imp Shield (+10 PRR). If your goal here is maxing out your defenses, then it's worth it, IMO. Whether making out your defenses is worth the DPS sacrifice is another matter...
