looking back at barb healing

i dont expect anyone else to remember comments back when discussions about buffing barbs were raging (see what i did there) all over the forums about the possibility of using temp hp procs to keep them alive instead of direct healing. nor do i expect anyone to remember that i advocated for temp hp procs over healing procs. i didnt remember either, until i just did.

imagine how different things would be now for barbs and their appeal to players, in the light of reaper.

Just started to craft the first slavers item and bring the gear up to date on my barb-alt. Spend some thoughts about selfhealing and blood rage ... guess it won´t belong for reaper, No way around Crusader now? On the other Hand, with teamplay and thrown heals ... High CON and Terror can do some. Not sure about doing raids. Game over for barb?

Blood Strength still procs decently on kill, but that's only good if you solo low skulls I guess.

I guess you guys are talking about high skull reaper at cap? I just leveled a barbarian on r1-2 in heroics solo without any issues. If anything blood strength seemed to be working... uh.. almost "fight club" well.

Figuring out how to heal in EE has been more challenging than heroic reaper.

Just level up in Divine Crusader unless you're working on destinies, then good luck. Or at least use DC in the harder EE quests.

The balance that worked best for me was to run in LD, but twist sacred ground and consecration and drink a steady supply of lesser SF potions. Using two twist slots is costly, but it didn't seem as costly as the move from LD to DC. Maybe I've just never gotten the hang of DC, but the DPS just seemed painfully low compared to LD. Since I usually solo keeping blitz going in EE is easy, and all that melee power adds not only damage, but also healing with blood strength.

I just TRed out of barbarian because I don't really do endgame, but it was a lot of fun and very powerful once I got the hang of the healing and durability.
