Reaper Mode Rocks! Total Fun! +++
I hear they beat R10 already. Ok, let us step it up one last time...
What would go beyond Reaper Mode?
God Mode
SSG develops around 100 God characters... specially made, far more powerful then anything anyone has. Each hand crafted with great fun and also with AI systems making them behave different from each other. A God that uses Stealth and Assassination would actually sneak up and kill players. A loud proud God would come thundering down the halls announcing the players inevitable doom. When accepting God Challenge you accept that some of the Gods themselves have decided to intervene to tip the scales of good and evil by causing your quest to fail and evil to prevail. Accepting the Challenge does not automatically mean a God will appear to fight you, it means random messed up things will happen to devastate and destroy the adventure. It is the most difficult challenge there is, going against the will of the Gods themselves.
Random Devastation:
1 Curse of the Gods: All players are Cursed, Poisoned, Weakened, and Slowed for the entire quest. Good Luck.
2 Divine Assistance: Monsters are randomly resurrected and the final boss is provided a divine shield that reduces all damage by 75%.
3 Reaper Creeper: Reapers spawn 10% of the time whenever a monster is killed.
4 Champion Madness: All monsters are Champions. Boss is a Champion. Everything is a Champion.
5 Uncontrollable: All monsters automatically make their saving throws no matter what. DC control is useless.
6 Death Toll: Players, pets, hirelings all lose hps and sps every few seconds. This doubles each time they die upon resurrection.
7 The Boot: A Godly foot boots anyone who dies out of the dungeon. Basically don't die.
8 Broken: All worn gear takes damage each few seconds and will turn to rubble if you take too long.
9 Mirrored: The Gods make copies of the players and they are forced to fight themselves.
10 God Stopper: Lucky Party! A God has decided to personally travel to the quest and appear randomly somewhere to break the quest dead!
The quests would start out with nothing happening, so no one has any idea what to plan on. Within 5 minutes the first effects kick in. Then, at a half way check point in the quest the first affects end and the second effects kick in. This adds suspense and unpredictable hellish problems for the party to try to adjust to.
If the party gets a God Stopper in the first wave, they are going to find themselves fighting one really powerful being that does not die easy or seem to give up, and has a will of its own and healing abilities and uses all the tricks in the book. They may try to avoid the God if that is possible, probably not, but if they can make it to the second wave and the God is still alive, then the God abandons efforts and returns to its home and the second wave commences... possibly a different God? Or maybe the follow up is a Curse left behind???
This would be pure HEAVEN!!! This sort of challenge would drive everyone nuts, they would be tempted to try it, and they would hate and love it both because it creates a great deal of suspense with the unknown twist of the second wave scramble. God Mode would be the final mode, without God 1 or God 2, simply God Mode, known for its Immortal Challenge, turning any and every quest into an epic adventure of hellish challenging fun that boggles the mind as waves mix with dungeons own unique blend of problems. Just imagine running a raid when suddenly the whole party is slowed... talk about a new level of time to cooperate!!! Folks... we better cooperate real carefully now... or we are gonna wipe!
Wiping... these challenges are harsh. Failure is more possible then ever. Wiping happens in two ways. If the whole party is dead at the same time, that is an automatic wipe and they all get booted. Try again. Cake wont save a total wipe like this. The other possible wipe is too many deaths and not enough levels, death is much worse here if it doesnt flat out boot you (from Boot wave), you get a negative level for the reminder of the quest with no timer to remove negative effects and each following death leads to another stack of negative level, making you weaker and more vulnerable, and more likely to die faster and faster until... wipe! You have died 30 times and have no more levels to give... by the time you are near the end.. you are a freaking level 3 toon in God Mode... doomed and condemned!
The Rewards! There must be rewards. First off. Reaper Points, and lots of them! God mode gives most possible Reaper Points from any quest. God Mode also provides Reaper Bonuses to players. Items, unique items. Sentient Items! Artifact Rares! Possibly Immortal Exp or something, as this could be used to usher in the final plateau of power adding Immortality, as players become immortal beings of Mythic proportions... legends... lore...
