Devs,

As with my other thread, another thing you could do to make certain content more intersting and bolster sales of it is to update augments to the new power level and ADD new and special augments to the game. For example, how about an augment that gives clickies? Or one that bolsters summons? lots of neat ideas here to work with and you can add them to under used/sold packs to up sales.

Sev did mention the possibility of reworking the Augment system in general in an earlier Producer's Letter, but he made no mention of it in the most recent Producer's Letter in January.

Don't know if it's still on the table.

We are interested in updating Augments, but it isn't on our shorter-term agenda at this time.

You know, it seems like since the change from being Turbine to being your own studio, you guys have gotten more communicative. Just thought I'd mention that it seems that way to me and tell you that it's appreciated. Thanks, Cordovan.

Hopefully fixing death block is on the list for quick fix, it comes in an augment form and is sold in the store so it should be pretty important.

Good to know, but have you guys got any plans for some kind of tweak to jewelers tool kits to make them attainable some natural way in the game? Or are they to stay as is?

If it is not going to be updated soonish can we get some new augments? A few more orange ones etc.

Understood. Please at least put it on the agenda for next year. Fix deathblock ASAP. Thank you.

Yes, Deathblock should be fixed as of tomorrow's patch. ALSO: There's a patch tomorrow. Downtime notice incoming. :)

Talking more is a good first step. The challenge is actually doing more.

I think that a number of quest chains that aren't particularly popular any more could do with some interesting augments added.

One idea that comes to mind is the following:

Grey Moon Heirloom

Augment Crystal - Orange Slot

Internal Cooldown: 6 seconds (This is the minimum time between procs)

Limit: 1 of this augment equipped

When you deal acid or fire damage with a melee attack (including unarmed), you gain temporary HP equal to two times your character level for 12 seconds. For as long as you have at least one of these temporary hitpoints, you have a +10 absolutely stacking bonus to PRR.

"The Grey Moon forged this amber to protect anyone who hunted trolls"

______________________________

That would be useful at all levels without being ridiculous.

I do like that idea, interesting and not op at all. Things like that would definately liven up the game. Doing a pass of named items would also help a TON with revitalizing packs.

Yeah, this saying has going around for years now. It's just another abandoned system. Same way we were told that you would keep adding things to Remnants' vendor.

TBH I'm not sure about the balance implications. It's inherently hard to use being an orange slot though, and one that requires melee sources of elemental damage as well.

If there's a named item pass it shouldn't hit everything, just pick one or two gear slots per pack and make the items in those slots good.

I disagree. Every item should be hit, then the players have the choice of what to run for what items they want.

i would really love to see more named items.

its still a "wow" moment, when a meteor ruby or a draconic soulgem or a golem's heart drop in one of the appropriate chests.

some really good ideas have been listed here already.

the new augment system is really well designed and i like it big time!
now you just need to follow up with more stuff

I've been asking at least since January 2016 for:

Sapphires of Dodge
Sapphire of Fortification over 100% (Heavy)
Amethyst of Seeking
Topaz of Deadly/Accuracy
Ruby of Heartseeker/Bloodletter/Ribcracker
Rubies or Topaz of Stunning, Vertigo, Tendon Slice & Shatter (somewhat matching the scaling of random loot/new cannith crafting)

Named/or Rare drops:
Emerald of Speed (i don't even care if this one were store only)
Topaz of True Seeing
Topaz of Freedom of Movement
Ruby of Banishment
Ruby of Disruption
Ruby of Smiting
Ruby Eye of the Siren 2% chance of 3d4 Sonic damage per minimum level of the item
Diamond of Blur (Since you can get this on named items as low as level 3 I would suggest making this item no higher than 8th level and possibly 4th)
Diamond of Lesser Displacement (should be raid item lvl24/28)
Amethyst of Deception/Improved Deception (this has been tremendously deprecated so I don't know if it would still be worth it)
Bahamut's Dragonmarked Opal (extra dragonmark usages)

Other possible named augments could have Bloodrage, Manslayer, Magical Efficiency, Healer's Bounty, Dusk or Ghostly or Ethereal, etc.
I really hope before Ravenloft someone realizes a named augment with either Invisibility Guard or Nightmare Guard would fit well.

Essentially if done right, they could slowly dole out named augments and even if they were BTA most players would still want/need to acquire more than one thus encouraging people to replay the content.
